Are there any scenes that you think should have been handled differently, or could be made more plausible, or emotionally satisfying, or strike a better note of comedy?

The rules are simple:

1) Pick one scene, not a whole episode
2) Describe how you'd rewrite that scene in a way that you feel would improve it
3) The new scene must fit into the overall narrative, i.e. no changing the plot of the episode, just that scene.
4) The rewrite should be feasible and filmable - i.e. close to the same length, not requiring impossible special effects, and so on.

How would you have done things differently?

My motivation for this was Rory's death scene - I thought it could been handled with much less cliche and a lot more pathos.

I would have started editing from the point that they were investigating the crack - Restac sneaks up on them without alerting them and effectively takes them hostage at gunpoint before the Doc can ready his screwdriver, demanding that one of them die as revenge for her sister. Although Ambrose would be the obvious candidate, Rory steps forward. To protect Amy, to ease his guilt over not preventing Alaya's death, but most of all because he reasons that because he saw himself on the hill, he must be safe. Over the Doctor's protests, of course, because Rory is wrong. The Doctor disables Restac's weapon as soon as she's fired. The rest of the scene plays out as normal.

That strikes me more as Rory's way of handling things - he's thoughtful, not an action hero. He's always been hesitant to throw himself in danger before, and this way it ramps up the tension before his sacrifice actually comes. And you would still be able to have his shock at the way things turned out.

Oh, and I'd probably rewrite the explanation as to why Amy's forgetting him to be something about the effect on your memory being determined by the length of time the erased thing influenced your life, i.e. the longer you were in contact, the more traumatic their removal on your perception. Rather than offering a binary remember/don't remember contradicting what went before.
