Does anyone remember before the 1996 movie when speculation of Steven Spielgberg making a Doctor Who blockbuster, and they named David Hasslehoff to played The Doctor. They also suggested that The Tardis could speak.(weird)

God forbid that any of this should ever actually happen, but actually Johnny Depp would make a pretty good Doctor, as long as he still played him as a British character (I know he's actually alien but you know what I mean!)

Don't know about that. Doctor Who fans might fantasise about
a JJ Abrams / Peter Jackson / James Cameron DW film, but with our luck we'd probably get someone like Michael Bay

I think Depp would make a great Doctor as would Downey Jr. And if it was Directed by Ridley Scott I'd be sold.

It sort of depends what you mean. A hollywood movie would be a disaster, but a Who movie set in America might work - I'm thinking of something along the lines of the original Highlander here. US money wouldn't work, maybe an American companion.

Though they killed the 'New' Avengers when they relocated to Canada.

I have to say the director would have to be JJ Abrams and I think they should keep MS as The Doctor (if not Robert Downey JR it should be). The companion should be someone like Scarlett Johansson or Zoey Deschanel

He's known to American audiences, so could work as a choice. If there was an American companion, it could be Madonna! That would rock!

He'd probably be a re-imagined younger version of Hartnells First incarnation and the story would see The Doctor "borrow" the Tardis from Gallifrey and go on his first adventure.

There were rumours of a DW movie starring David Tennant last year, but they don't seem to gone beyond a few execs discussing the idea. In any case I couldn't see Tennant starring as the Doctor in a film while his successor was trying to winTV audiences over-it would come across as unprofessional.

I think this is the only way they could do a movie without causing upset to someone.

It might make a good plot, actually.

But who would play a young 1st Doctor?
