i think this was filmed in Croatia at the same time as Vampires.

It looks eerily like Provence though! It was only when I went there I realised what they say about the light being so incredible it inspired artists. I'll have to pay more attention to Croatia.

Does anyone else feel that this script sounds very 'Moffat-tampered'? I suppose it would inevitably be the case.

Wasn't Curtis' first draft rejected because his Doctor was speaking 'too posh'?

Not really, no, I very much doubt that SM would have tampered too much with the work of someone with the Hollywood pedigree of Curtis. I have certainly read that Curtis himself reworked elements of the script, but I find the notion that SM would have done a massive rewrite of it himself faintly absurd tbh.
