I'm just wondering if anyone has used the above website as the carpark I use everyday has got promotional codes for it on the back of their tickets.

There's some pretty poor reviews mixed with excellent reviews online so hard to tell. I'd like to hear from my fellow DS'ers if anyoen has any first-hand tales?

Havent used it myself but Just Eat is only a company which offers a ordering platform for companies to use. The food depends on which local company you use. Just Eat simply passes the order on.

Yeah I guess i'm just wondering if the service is any good as opposed to the food. Some of the reviews were saying they double charged.

I use it. It's really just a way of small local businesses being able to offer online ordering without all the faff of owning and maintaining their own website. The vouchers are also useful as lots of the little places don't usually have them.

The food is only as good as the place you are ordering from. Just Eat have no control over the quality etc. Just take care over some of the pricing. While Just Eat don't control the prices you are charged, I've found some of the prices are more expensive than if you just ordered directly rather than through the site.

Also, I've never paid by card on the site, always used cash on delivery. It's not that I don't trust it, but I'm not certain who takes the payment.

I've used them. I paid cash on delivery as wasn't sure about it and my meal turned up 5 minutes before the time I ordered it for.

Just had a look at their website and the only two take aways they list from my area are two I would never use because they are dreadful.

I've used it once and had no trouble at all. I too used the cash payment as it was my first time using the service.

It said it would be 45 minutes for delivery but only took around 15 minutes although it was only a kebab (quick to make) and on a Tuesday night IIRC so probably not their busiest night (Kebab and football - what more could you want )
Order turned up being just what I did order and left in the notes so 100% satisfaction so far

Sounds promising. I can never be bothered to ring up the takeaway so this is ideal for little old lazy me. Shame my discount code is for paying by card only though. I'm inclined to go for cash on delivery judging by everyone else's positive experience paying cash.

I'm sure I got a letter saying my cash card is now insured for small purchases (not just over £100 or whatever) so next time I may be inclined to take a gamble on card payment.

Too true, i'm pretty sure mine is too. Next time I order a takeaway I shall use the website, pay by card and let you know how it goes!

Used it lots of times to pay by card and with cash, no problems with payments.

Sometimes places have been good for meals and sometimes have had rubbish meals but that can happen anywhere.

Nothing beats the Chinese restaurant that is near me (although I have to phone them which sometimes you just dont want to do)

ive used it loads, and paid with my card. its perfectly safe.- in that its no more dodgy than other services where you use your card.

it means you can browse the menus as long as you like, add stuff, remove stuff, then when you order you dont have to speak to anyone, and get fed in an hour. you get to leave reviews and star ratings of the restaurants and can see others ratings. it also keeps track of what you order and where so you can see your own comments and star rating any tie soyou never make the mistake of going back to that shit takeaway again.

i've had a couple of bad experiences, last one at the weekend where just-eat failed to pass on my order, after 2 hours i contacted the restaurant who told me they hadn't received anything... turns out the just-eat machine in the restaurant was dodgy..in all honesty, unless you need to use card rather than cash, i'd just-phone the order through directly

I've used them many times (this week ), never had a problem with the just-eat side of things. Found their customer service to be excellent.

Hungryhouse is good too, some places on there don't charge extra for credit cards either.

Used them a lot, for Indian, Chinese, Pizza. When you join you get emails from them with promotions, often for bank holidays, usually 15% off.

When I was in Wolves being a lazy student me and my friend used this ALL of the time, 99% of the time the service was brilliant, simple to use and deliver within the allocated time. You don't have to use your card, use the "pay on delivery" option. I can't use Just Eat where I am now as no takeaway delivers in my area .

Used it 2 or 3 time and never had a problem.

Of course the food depends on where you order from, but other than that everything has been very quick, easy and convenient

I've used Hungryhouse almost every weekend for a couple of months. One local restaurant gives good discounts if you order through Hungryhouse and I've never had a credit card surcharge.

Thanks for all the replies. I just had a look at the Hungryhouse website but they only do Indian takeaways in my area - I'm more of a chinese girl myself!

Ordered a curry via Hungryhouse last night. It was quite poor and suspiciously like microwaved food. This is obviously not a reflection on Hungryhouse as they don't make the food, but they do display reviews and marks from customers. The same takeaway gets 4/5 on Hungryhouse and 6/6 on Just-eat. I can't help wondering how impartial those marks are, especially since some of the reviews are critical. The best advice must be that by all means use an online ordering service, just don't trust the marks on their site but instead order from a restaurant that you know and trust.

I use it a lot and wish to god I had invented it, such a great idea just a shame some of the bigger takeaways don't use it. I'd love have my KFC delivered.

Never heard of Hungryhouse before, but I'll give them a go next time.

We used Just-Eat (Milton Keynes) for the first time last night and were very impressed, they were very quick in delivering and the food was excellent.

I prefer ordering online especially for Indian or Chinese takeaway as you can be certain you will get what you have ordered, sometimes it is difficult to understand accents on the phone and orders get muddled

It is convenient but it sounds like a decent amount of money will be taken away from the local business.
Could this mean in the long run you pay more for less?
