Why does it need an update?

Well actually I agree it does need an update as it is so clunky to use. But it does actually seem to work as it is supposed to.

As reported many times on this forum there will be no more releases to add functionality. There may (or may not) however be maintenance firmware updates.

There doesn't seem to be a lot more to do to be fair. I can think of a few ways it could be improved but they are mostly minor UI niggles.

My only real complaint would be with the broadcasters but that's a different story and a hole with no bottom to it

Live pause is unusable because it bombs out at the end of the live programme.

Non freesat mode is unusable because it won't record while you are in non freesat mode. (and won't even warn you if you switch to non freesat mode within 15mins of the start of a programme.)

Not sure we will get a fix for the live play back problem, nice if we do . To avoid this I play back from the media menu. Just as a matter of interest my DigitalStream Freeview HD PVR does exactly the same unless you turn off the default continuous play feature.

On the Non-Freesat mode front, I won’t hold out for any updates for this as Humax have stated in the past it is just a basic add on and is sold as a Freesat PVR.

I never thought of this before but, does the HDR have a continuous play mode ?, I'm of to have a look.
