I'd love someone to compile a book of Nick and Margaret quotes. The book could simply be called 'Owned'

I think she regards herself, with good justification as the best sales person there. Probably the most experienced too. But Arjun and Tim are also good in a more restrained manner. They give the customer the room to part convince themselves they want it. It's a cleverer method as it doesn't scare away and is more adaptable. It helped Arjun with his pitch as he tried to find what Argos might want and how the sled could fit in. Zoe's pitch was bad. Hard sell works if the customer thinks there's a bargain and it's time limited.

Her hard sell approach makes me cringe. She's like a dodgy car dealer or a really poor estate agent. The worst thing about is that she thinks she's a cut above. Deluded bint!

She rarely closes her mouth after she finishes a sentence... it remains open for like 5 seconds afterwards. It unnerves me.

Well don't like it much either, puts me right off when someone in the real world trys it on me. I don't buy from them.

To be fair though, that's probably all the selling experience she has at 16, a market stall. And that's part theatre and you need to compete and grab passers by attention. It's not tempting to buy from a stall where the seller is huddled up looking dejected. Doesn't mean you want them in your face if you are just browsing. Also it's a fashion stall, so some customers will welcome the seller making suggestions.

Yes, but she's so bloody arrogant, she hasn't got the humility to acknowledge this. She thinks she's some bloody high flyer sales person, not to mention art 'expert', when really she's no better (actually I suspect, nowhere near as good as!) than a "roll up, roll up ladies" merchant selling tea towels and Tupperware

And I'm sorry, but if I was looking at clothes and the person on the stall/in the shop starting making suggestions, I'd run a mile. I cannot stand pushy/in your face sales people.

Bit harsh IMHO. Compared to the others she is an art expert as all the rest said they knew nothing or had bothered to think about it before. And much of your criticism is how his peers think of Sugar. Part of the Lords title was a chance to 'show'em'. Lord knows his maiden speech was

Female sellers are able to be pushier than men, esp. if the customer is male. Not all the time, but more likely than the other way around or same sex.

They'd said it in pieces to camera, not to her. She was clearly under the impression that they were a very harmonious team. I can see why she was upset when Arjun and Emma (rightly) criticised her.

I've posted on the main thread about Zoe's behaviour this episode and won't repeat it here. As a contestant in general, I do like her a lot. I think referring to her as a bully is coming it a bit strong; I think she does like to be in control and has great confidence (quite often justified) in her abilities. I think she does need to learn that other people have abilities and strengths of their own if given a chance to show them.

She's just not mature enough to accept criticism. She was disappointed and upset and she let it show.

Yes she is a madam and full of confidence but isn't that what being 16 is all about? I don't want her to win, Arjun for me, but the show is all the better for her being in it.

It's also possible that Zoe didn't pick up any of the signals earlier.

I don't think she's a bully either. Bullies tend to undermine and try and isolate their victim. Not seen that at all. IMHO she likes to be in control and be the centre of attention.
Very confident too. Not a bully more of a bull. Others have likened her to Debra Barr, I think she's more like Yasmina.
She is giving Arjun respect, though in more like 'my able assistant here'. Arjun of course sees it differently.

I like her too. She's fun and that dynamism is raising the game of the others too.

It's interesting that the two most powerful figures in the group (in terms of magnets to the others, not necessarily in ability) have almost inverse manners in dealing with the world: Zoe is all about commanding attention front and centre and sucking people towards her, and Tim is all about standing at the back of the room and people go to him.

with her selling technique, i am surprised she dont work for currys/comet/pc world, where you cant even go and look around without being made to feel like you are stealing, as you have an assistant on your coat tails all the time

Leading from the front against managing from the back?

That they are also the tallest and look older than they are probably helps too.

Tim is head boy at his school I think. Zoe is head girl in a smaller group possibly?

Bah! She's probably 17 now, and put herself forward for national television, which historically has pro and anti groups for candidates on Facebook.

She's not exactly a victimised child.

That's odd; there are other anti-Zoe groups still there.

I really dislike her. You would never get on with her if you had to work with her due to her 'I'm better than everyone else' attitude and sarcastic facial expressions. Yes fine she's shown that she's capable but she could only ever work successfully on her own.

Imagine if she was your boss. Nightmare.

I don't think that's so. I think she came across like that in the last task because she actually did have more of a grounding in art than her team-mates and she felt that she was more capable than them because of that.

In other tasks I think she's been less like that; in week two especially she and Hibah seemed to have a happy collaborative partnership going (surprising after their spat in week one).
