I have mid brown hair and for the summer I wanted to freshen it up and take it a shade or two lighter. Last week I applied a permament hair dye called lighter brown however the difference is neglible so I was wondering how long do I need to wait before trying a lighter shade?

A home hair dye will not usually make your hair lighter unless it has peroxide in it - using a 'light brown' on dark brown hair won't work - you will need something that says it will lighten your hair to a 'blonde' shade - I would recommend visiting a salon tho as brown hair often goes orange using home lightening products
