Is anyone else fed up of the dance acts?

I'm still not over George Sampson beating Signature

The boy just danced haphazardly in a puddle!

The dance acts are a bit tedious. It's a shame because what they are doing is highly talented and they've trained long and hard to perfect every move, but with so many doing the same sort of thing, the public will inevitably grow bored.

Take The Fusion, for example. They would have wowed me a couple of years ago. And whilst I liked the theatrical feel of their routine tonight, I wasn't as blown away as I probably should have been.

Tyler was absolutely incredible tonight...the best dance act I've ever seen on the show...I've already voted five times and I'm not stopping yet...

The dancers are getting more boring by the minute.

I loved the Fusion! I'm a bit fed up with the usual dance acts, but they're different and I thought it was really good.

Indeed, Mr B. I'd have pegged you for an Emile voter.

I agree. There are far too many of them this year, and they are all crap.

Too many dance acts this year in fact I've lost track of the amount of streetdancers that were on.Maybe they think its' like the lottery the more times you put it on the more chance you have of winning, so overload us with dance acts and one of them might win.

I do like dance acts but I have to agree, there are too many of them and not enough variety acts.

It's getting really repetitive that every show this week has started with a cannon fodder dance act who hasn't a hope of getting through.

They really need to look at this for next year.

Yep, After paul Potts won the first one, the following year we were flooded with classical singers, then after George sampson who IMO shouldn't have won, we had more than enough bodybloodypoppers. Now because of Diversity we have all the prancers. While I'm having a good grump, Miley Cyrus can't sing either. That was amazingly rubbish, even crappier than the crappy dancers.

Totally agree, Twist and Pulse and maybe the Skeleton ones tonight exempt for me though. At least they were kind of different other than the usual Street and stageschool dance acts.

I think there has been an overkill of dance acts this year. It gets that when I hear the name of one of the dance acts because there have been so many I can't remember them all individually.

Same here, and there are so many people in them that the dances look too busy.

They're doing it as a hobby though. It has nothing to do with the entertainment industry.I'm a bit baffled by street dance's popularity with the voting public.

Someone had better tell Diversity in that case, they seem to be doing very well.

I don't think they have ever put a magician through before, even the good ones. I don't think the judges like magicians much

The dance groups seem pretty 'samey' to me - I'd like more variation in genre.

I don't mind tobias and twist and pulse

i just hate the groups of a thousand screaming kids

they shouldn't be in this competition at all

and the fusion people were rubbish, so were ice

I'd say they and Flawless are the only ones making any sort of money in the UK Jade.Street dance is not part of the mainstream entertainment industry....it's essentially a hobby or participation activity for most people involved in it.

Excellent point. I was just posting in another thread that Stavros Flatley made more money last year than Diversity — a lot more according to the press — and unlike Susan B they had no income from recordings either. Street dance is a very small niche market, business-wise.

I agree with the OP and there are far too many of these dance acts and it's the worst BGT that I've seen and they let far too many acts through and being on every night is too much!!!! Thank goodness for Janey tonight!!!

I missed the 2nd part so don't know who the other two acts were who got through but assumed Janey came top as she had no competition!!!

I like Twist and Pulse, but since we had Diversity and Flawless last year who were both brilliant, I just feel like I've seen it all before, only better, so I find most of the other dance acts boring and there's just been too many of them for me to get enthusiastic. It doesn't help much that most of the acts that aren't dancers seem to be singers!

yes fed up with them, dont see the point in it, its not variety that i know thats for sure, and whats the point of a dance group doing a spot at the RVP when alot of these shows and theaters already have an inhouse choriographer and dance troop like the tiller girls and that sort of thing. I also dont believe the queen would be in to it either.

We have a lack of live varity talent these days because in the world of the media we have theres no call for it, gone are the days of vaudville, vents, even comics, theres really not many really funny comics - side splitting comics all the family can sit down and enjoy, its all smug lets try and be clever satrical egos, and if the selection process is anything like we've heard before the bad acts are being selected for the judges audtion while good ones are being turned away because the formats not been changed.

the other problem they have is they will never replicate the subo overnight fame thing, its always going to feel flat after all last years hype.

We need magicians, jugglers, ventriloquists and stuff like that

That is talent. if you want to sing go on the xfactor.

if you're a truly good dance group, then you should be able to get fame without a talent show. if you can't do it on your own, you're poo
