The Fusion were the only ones to actually try something really obscure and different. They're actually the older kids from the same dance troup that was on Got to Dance (they were the young kids called The Box.) They came second in that and lost by a mere few votes. You tube that performance, it was amazing! If they had put the young kids in The Fusion they would have got more votes I think. It's the same thing with Diversity...although they are amazing, eveyone loves the little'uns.

I wanted The Box or the ballet guy (Michael?) to win, nothing to do with having money on them of course

I think that there may have been too many dance acts through but I do think dance has a place on this show and the best ones I enjoy watching. I really liked T & P and Fusion tonight and enjoyed Peridot last night. Would have preferred Fusion to get to the final over Janey myself but it was inevitable she was going through especially after the OTT reaction from the judges.

If you look at the final line up there are only 2 dance acts there so far & neither of them won their semi so arguably are unlikely to win the whole thing (I would say T&P have a better shot than Tobias). However I think we will get a different type of winning act this year - I think it's between Spelbound, Tina & Chandi and Paul.

I've heard that Stavros are commanding large five figure sums for each performance that they do.They must be raking in a fortune at this stage.

The street dance phenomenom on BGT is baffling to me.It's very much a niche thing and a hobby or pastime for teenagers to get involved in : watching BGT you would think that it was a mainstream part of the entertainment scene and that theatres up and down the country were packed out every night with people watching it.

Yes! Everything just seems weak in comparison to Diversity. I do find Twist & Pulse mildly entertaining though.

One thing that annoyed me was during the auditions where the judges said the audience clearly loved a particular dance act as they were all up and dancing along. It was nothing special to me. More likely they were just enjoying the accompanying track, "I Got A Feeling"!

I watched the first Semi Final, once I saw that the two dance acts had gone through, I lost interest in the rest of the show, and have not watched any more of it since.

Dancing is about the most boring performance art there is - except in cases like MJ where they sing as well.

There seems to be a copycat theme going on after Diversity won the show last year. I am sick of the dancers all doing the same thing. Fusion were very good though because they told a story. I think they should have gone through instead of Janey.

If you think the dancers are doing 'the same thing', I suggest you go to Specsavers!

Twist and Pulse were excellent last night and totally different from any of the other dance 'acts'. I do agree with you that Fusion should have gone through in preference to Janey.

Twist and Pulse are awful, body popping out of time to a cacophony of random sounds isn't talented, every kid from the 70's did it.

The only way you're gonna get rid of the copy-cat dance acts is to get rid of the idiot Amanda Holden who seems to greet every one as is she's never ever seen anyone dance before 'Oh my god, it's the future!' No it's not.

I agree with you Nicola.

There are too many dance acts. I never thought I would say that but this year it is getting ridiculous. I blame the judges for putting them through because the acts themselves only want to show what they can do.

Perhaps they should have a programme called Britain's Got Talented (or not) Dance Acts!

True, but it's the job of the show's producers and judges to produce a mix of different acts. Long before the live shows, they should have sorted out which dance acts to put on, and given the other spots to different types of acts. On the evidence so far, they got it totally wrong and let through far too many, most of whom clearly didn't have a prayer of succeeding.

Myztical are good because they bring song to their performance. Hoping they can improve on their audition and if so, think they could go down a storm tonight.
Agree with OP - far too many 'street dance crews' - it has got boring very quickly, but I would set Myztical apart because of the singing element.

I wouldn't mind seeing some ballet on it.

i remember a performance from the royal variety where this bloke was dancing across the stage and feathers kept falling from his tutu.

nobody has a clue what i am on about

It's funny now that there is only one dance act in the final compared to 4 singing acts. I think there was too much of a backlash against the dance acts especially the street dancers. I agree that there were far too many of them in the auditions and it would have been boring for another dance to win. There were a few like Mystikal, A3 and Twist & Pulse, who were different. I too didn't like the constant changing of music and think that any dance acts auditioning for next year really need to up their game if they want to be successful in the competition.

Fed up to the back teeth with all the street dancing - where are all the jugglers, magicians, dog acts, ventriloquists, comedians? That is variety.

Did Liam go through? I'd be very surprised if he HASN'T had any training. He's good but all this "you just sing in your room" is crap. He has a choirboy sound, and that isnt achieved with no training.

A lot of up and coming variety acts refuse to enter BGT especially those involved in comedy. You have 2 minutes to make people laugh (which is very hard) and if you fail you'll get slagged off by the judges and your reputation could be damaged irreparably. Even small clubs might not want to sign up 'that loser from TV'. Same applies to magicians.

They struggle in America's Got Talent too. Even that winning ventriloquist Terry Fater had to sing rather than tell jokes.

Normally I would go out of my way to record BGT if I was going out etc but this year I have missed quite a few shows as the ones I have seen have been dreadful. I am not excited about the Final at all and I have had enough of the dance acts, far too many this year and why do the producers not give us a variety of performers rather than singers/dance acts!!!!! Janey sang No Regrets very well but her rendition of This is My Life was a whole beat behind the music and for most of it was was drowned out by the music. I thought the standing ovation from the judges was over the top and no mention was made of the fact that she had performed badly compared to her audition. Sorry, although they are trying to make Janey a Susan Boyle it is not going to work. Charming lovely lady but she shakes through all her routines and cannot make it on the stage without assistance°°°!!!!!! Honestly, is this lady going to win BGT this year???

Have to disagree with you here. Spelbound are not a dance act. They're a highly talented gymnastic act from a club that produces successful international competitors.

Yep, Simon put him through over A3 the street dancing brothers.

I do think that street dancers and dance troupes ought to be exceptional now before they get through to the semis because there's so many of them and the standard is so high. The dancers are much better than the singer in relative terms may be because it's easier to dance than sing at a very high level.

The first semi final a gymnast troup and a single dancer got through. You really can't compare gymnastics to dancing and they are the best I have seen.
