She has a great range, and obviously a style and tone that's recognisable as Country, but I personally think her voice is a bit thin and reedy.

I'm a fan of Carrie. I think she's well suited to her country/pop style, as like the poster above, I don't know if her voice is as strong as some others out there. But all three of her albums are great.

I'm a big fan of Carrie.

I do save most of my love for Britney, though

She's not normally the type of artist I listen to, but I do think she has a great voice and some catchy songs (Before He Cheats, Cowboy Casanova etc).

Some of her lyrics are quite twee and cheesey - like a lot of wholesomer than wholesome country tends to be, all God fearin', Mama lovin', smalltown girl lost in this here big bad city

One of the best live vocalists around for sure- amazingly consistent and there is a reason she has so many vocal awards. Her live performances of in particular "how great thou art" and "I know you wont" are spectacular

For me the best idol - show died for me once she won as she could not be topped

From her audition it was clear she would be there or there abouts imo

Recently bought her Greatest Hits! I love her. What an amazing singer. I wish Country music was bigger in the UK.

Country music is "big" with those who enjoy it. It doesn't bother me that some people have such a narrow perspective when it comes to music. But that happens with every generation.

It's sad that this "Music" board is dominated by contemporary pop and particularly Madonna.
Anyway "Nashville" will hopefully be returning to our screens soon, although this is just a small window into C&W.

I'll listen to anything with a good tune sung well.
There's a lot of great storytelling in the lyrics of many C&W songs, where in pop, you can often get a lot of repeated lines, because the writers have little imagination.

Well there is nothing stopping people from starting threads about artists they like. Madonna is dominating the forum right now because her album is about to be released.

Hmm..

How many albums are "released" in any week of any year?
Over 1,400.

Why so many topics on Madonna?

At least someone searched for the title of a thread before posting.
So many new threads on the same artist get started unnecessarily.

"Now where have I read that before?"

That's under the assumption people on this forum actually contribute to said topics
