christina's bionic. not so good as first thought
big shame. looks rather obvious that this album was changed very last minute and the great tracks like monday morning and little dreamer were shunned for the likes of not myself tonight.
this whole era is designed to be a big flop for her. |

The album imo is great overall and I don't get why people complain if you buy the deluxe you get all the songs so it doesn't matter which order the tracklist goes just rearrange in your itunes library
!!Expect next week to see a lot of promo from Xtina. Schedule June * 6th: 2010 MTV Movie Awards * 8th: Mini Concert on Today show * 9th: Late Show with David Letterman * 10th: Live with Regis and Kelly * 11th The Early Show * 13th: VH1 Storytellers * 13th: VH1 Behind the Music |

I think the album is okay, but it doesn't make sense to me. It sounds a bit like something Ciara or the Pussycat Dolls would do. The ballads are the saving grace. And it seems like they're trying to recreate Stripped, but it's just not working. She should be going forward, not backwards.
When this album flops, she should sack RCA. |

Very much agreed about the original plans for the album being scrapped. Its a huge huge disappointment after waiting for so long. Still, if people like it...more power to them. Its a shame we didnt get the epic electronic album so many of us were expecting.

1. She needs to drop RCA, the entire RMG (RCA Music Group that includes RCA, J Records, Arista, etc) is a mess, horrible A&R and decision making, just dreadful.
2. She needs to stop thinking she is "iconic" and this super creative 'artiste' because she clearly isn't, she is a great vocalist but not an artist in any way, shape, or form. There is a number of artists who have flopped this year for the very same reason thinking they are some creative artists when they aren't. |

Looks like her team bottled it and rather than releasing the sublime "Birds of Prey" as the comeback single, went for the very safe and bland "Not Myself Tonight" instead.

they must clearly be reviewing a different album than the one we are hearing. But seriously, that just goes to show how irrelevant critical reviews are in 2010, in the digital era when it takes minutes to download an album and preview it, and make your own judgement without having to rely on some biased snob.

Why does it make them irrelevant? Just because they don't agree with your view? |

who is "we" ? the general public. Of course you will hear great feedback from fans, that's a given.
EDIT: I never pay attention to any critical reviews, positive or negative. reviews are an opinion of a single person who happens to be a journalist. |

You're right, just wait and watch what happens to this album over the next 5 weeks. That's all.

I don't understand why people are bothered that the electro tracks are 'bonus tracks' on the deluxe version. It's like someone choosing between a 1-Disc DVD and a 2-Disc Special Edition DVD and complaining that there are no special features on the 1-disc version. Theres only a matter of a few pounds between the price, and if you were so bothered about the album, chances are you'd get the deluxe version anyway.
Some people are making out that we got to hear snippets of songs like Monday Morning and Birds of Prey, but then they got cut from the album and never heard of again. They are on the album still... and like someone on here posted before, change your tracklist on your PC if your that bothered about it. ![]() I think its the best album of the year, and definetly worth the wait. IMO theres no bad songs on it, just 1 or 2 that are "filler". |

Reviews are given and are usually made by very experienced individuals who score the music based on a variety of things.
They'll look at how the album fits it's genre. In this case reviewers think Christinas pop album Bionic is a great 4 out of 5 pop record. I agree with them. Sometimes great albums don't sell. Sometimes they do. If this album fails to sell then it is not because it was poor, not because people hated it, but simply because there has been no publicity. Now when I say "no publicity" I am not exagerating the point. I mean NO publicity. The album is coming out here next week off the back of a single that didn't even get played on national radio on a regular basis - let alone publicised anywhere other than the Internet and one US performance. The album will be released on hear-say and at the end of the day Christina will only have herself to blame for ignoring a major Market to do other things. The only publicity she has got is a quote on Jonathon Ross' Twitter saying "Christina cancelled". Fans will no doubt buythe album upon release ensuring good first week sales. However without publicity she isn't going to get many further sales after this. |
