But I didn't understand what was so special about Kieron Gaffney's drumming?

I found it monotonous and putting him on a raised platform and tilting it mid-way through the act didn't make it any more exciting for me.

Aren't people in bands doing what he does all the time?

Please tell me I'm not alone because I feel like I'm turning into a grumpy old man!

No Sid you're just a grumpy 30 year old man like me. I couldn't believe that a drummer is in line to entertain the Queen. It's not cricket!

He's a good drummer for his age, there's no question...but as an act?

Meh.

I know nothing about drumming so I can't comment on that part of it, the song was too loud though. They may as well have just played that and I'd have barely noticed the difference if I didn't know better.

Appliesto almost every BGT act.

He's an amazingly talented drummer, especially for his age. But I agree, one lad drumming isn't really it's own show. He should have a good career though.

U iz just not wiv it, man!

Just kidding, take away the drummer boy and I'd have enjoyed listening to the song a bit more.

Honestly, no wonder shows like this go under. People are bored of dancers and singers but slate most of the other types of acts that come through.

Drumming is a talent, drumming is also not (as a lot of people think) very easy to do. Give the kid a break, he's only young and is very talented for his age.

This is britains got TALENT after all. Not Britains got singers and dancers.

I agree, it's just dull.

Give me Dance Flavourz over drummer boy any day. At least they're entertaining.

They've been pushing him down our throats though so not a surprise he got the pimp spot and a standing ovation.

I thought he was really good but he didn't entertain me

He is very, very talented but it's not an act I'd want to see again, and ultimately that's how people should vote.

Not that he won't get the votes of course, he'll be first through to the final.

I dont get it either.. It not like Escala or the saxophonist from last year who actually played their own music. Kieran is a good drummer, but his act is just playing the drums to a piece of music - I was more focused on the vocals of the song to be honest :confused;

While I do think he's a good drummer, drumming on its own isn't entertaining for me in the slightest, even with a tilting platform, too-loud backing track and flashing lights, so I didn't enjoy it at all. And I'm a 20 year old girl so I don't think it's a "grumpy old man" thing, Sid!

It would have been entertaining if his set slid off onto the floor.

For a minute I thought it was a technical cock-up and that he and the drums were about to come crashing down!

I used to play the drums so I can say he's quite a good drummer, but watching a drummer perform on his own against a backing track is not very entertaining. It's not the kind of 'variety' act that should win the show imo

Simon keeps going on about how this singer and that singer should be in a band, but a drummer all by himself is.....brilliant?!?

Pointless. The whole point of being a drummer is so that you drum for a band, not all by yourself, who the hell goes to watch someone drumming all by themselves?! Kieron should be in a band, without one, his talent is pointless.

I liked the background music though.

Hey, I don't get the pole dancing popularity, all she did was climb up to the top of a pole and slide down it. I reckon I could give that a go. People like the strangest things.

He was not the main drummer during that piece. You could clearly hear that he was either accompanying the main drumer or he was drumming along with the backing track.

If you watched his movements they did not match.

Singers cannot sing with another singer on the backing track and this should be no different.

That kind of sums it up for me too ... I was hoping the moving floor thingy would turn him upside down ... drumming upside down would have been far more interesting IMO
