is Kieron this years George Sampson???

He has all the makings of The Comeback Kid.

He may be a good drummer but it is so, so boring.

The judges push their favorites each night and the public fall for it hook, line and STINKER.

It was Janey last night and Kieron tonight.

I hope neither win and will be routing for Spelbouns and Twist & Pulse

No, what Sampson did could hold an audience, I don't think drumming wil generate that much interest in the actual final.

I think the Royal Variety act needs to be primarily visual, as her Madge is probably deaf as a post nowadays anyway.

Sampson was actually quite good in the context of ten year old tyler something and the other ten year old dancer, that would probably be because he is 4 years smarter technically and 4 years more coodinated which makes one ell of a differrence for a dancer, where as the younger ones just look like people with a TINY bit of potential and often look uncoordinated (slightly) or like naff children dancing (whatever the judges say the child thinks and dances like a child unless the child is trully something, which I havent seen yet, at least on BGT)

Quite surprised that none of the judges mentioned Spellbound when picking their favourites on BGMT.

They would be perfect for the Royal Variety (although tbh nobody enters this show for the RVP!)

I think he has a very good chance of winning - because he seems like such a lovely boy - and he really really wants to win, it strikes a chord with people, I don't like drumming that much but still found myself voting for him twice tonight.

Spellbound are the favs, and they are incredibly talented, but they don't seem to have struck much of a chord with the public elsewhere.

Of course he wants to win, his parents will beat him to within an inch of his life if he doesn't. His dad was practically rubbing his hands together with glee on BGMT, talking of the cash.

It's Hollie Steele all over again, without the tears.

Yes the lad is a good drummer but I find it so boring, can`t understand why the judges seemed ecstatic

On the contrary I think people find listening and watching drumming rather boring and I suspect he won last night because there was very little competition but tonight will be a different matter

I didn't find it entertaining.
He's a good and talented little drummer, but I just don't think a drum act can hold your attention the way other acts could. Maybe if he was going between different styles of drums or something but just being on a raised platform wasn't enough.
He'd be better if he came as part of a band...one that didn't include his talentless mum and dad!
I still thought his mum looked like sour grapes on the footage last night...

I really don't like Kieron Gaffney.
IMO he comes across as desperate and contrived. His parents are awful as well, which is probably where he got it.

I think I'm watching a different programme to you guys this year! I thought the standard on the last semi-final was very high. The only duff act was the father and son. I think the pole dancer and crazy Brazilian/Bollywood acts in particular would have made top 3 on another night.

I think Kieron has won people over with his passion for what he's doing and his determination to succeed. I don't think he'll win the whole thing but was delighted that he went through last night - I don't see anything contrived or desperate in him. The parents don't quite ring true with the whole "it's all for our boy" thing but Kieron himself is adorable.

Kieron's an alright kid, despite his parents!

I was happy for him when he went through last night (athough he's not really my pick) because he was genuinely happy.

I doubt he will win the whole thing, and nor should he, but he obviously does love what he does. In the long term he will drum with a band I expect.

Poor kid can't help having desperate for fame but with no talent parents!

Kieron has talent, just probably not the right talent for this show.

if drum soloists are that entertaining,
then why ist there a whole host of them selling arena's?

because first time you see it you think, that was pretty good,
but then afterwards you think, ive seen it... i dont want to see it again thank you.

Thank goodness I found this thread - I posted in another asking if I am missing something as all 3 judges backed him to win.

I also found it quite boring and I really think the public got carried away with the over enthusiastic judges comments.

From the final I'm only interested in seeing 5 of the 10 acts so thank goodness for Sky Plus fast forward!

I thought his act was useless TBH. I don't think he has any exceptional talent.

There is nothing special about his drumming - he's just like any kid of the same age who plays the drums.

I have no interest in seeing a solo drum act, with or without heavy backing tracks, and I can't imagine that many people would pay to see it.

He has been hyped beyond belief and had the "second chance" story built around him. They are giving him false hope. I hope he doesn't win.

No. I thought George Sampson was very good.I did think that Kieron got a bit boring halfway through the act last night.

I thought it amusing that both Amanda and Simon scoffed at Piers' quite sensible suggestion that Kieron should be in a band.

"No," they objected. "His is an act that can entertain on its own"

Sometimes Cowell can get it very right but he's clearly talking out of his arse. Nobody is going to pay money to see Kieron bang some drums.

I don't get the fuss with this lad. Yeah sure he's a good drummer but on last nights show clearly there were drums in the backing track so I grew bored very quickly as I'd no idea what drumming was him and what was the backing track. How come no one mentioned this?!
