i'm a fan of them. i buy their music cos i like their style. when i was in the front row for their concert in belfast at the end of february i was probably the only girl who wasnt crying/screaming at them. they must have thought i wasnt a proper fan.
its a disgrace they dont sing live though.
I never liked JLS on X-Factor because I didnt think they were good singers, so Im not surprised they mime all the time now. Look back at some of their X-Factor performances when they were singing live, they were really off key a lot of the time. I was surprised they got as far as they did! Im sure they're all lovely guys and well done on their success, but I just dont rate their singing at all. They sound better miming, lol!

It seems that the bigger & more successful artists are, the less they actually sing live on shows like this.

Exactly. They weren't all that on XF in the first place, so it's not surprising they mime now.
Not that that is an excuse.
I liked them in X Factor but I can't stand them now they mime on everything and then the BGT judges stand up for them. They can sing as shown in X Factor so why don't they? And they only are around pretty much cause of their looks and teenage girl fanbase and I don't even really fancy them tbh.

Well Pixie Lott saved the British talent as she gave a brilliant performance with choreography (though not much of it!). JLS have the ability to sing live and I've seen them, they are quite good. So why can't they do it all the time?! Argh

I know! But their teenie bopper fans (as in the "OMG ASTON IS SO PENG, INIT!!" fans..not the normal ones who actually like a few of their songs) are relentless. Usher showed them how it's done on last night's show - fantastic live singing and great dancing, with effortless charm and swagger.
Paloma faith is under the same record label as JLS and its soooo ridiculous that she isnt getting tv slots like they are...Paloma sounds even better live and wrote everysingle song on her album including all the b-sides....boils my blood.
Its also annoying how smug they are....im gona get attacked for saying that but to me when I watch them they seem so smug.

I absolutely HATE it when supposed 'singers' do not sing live and instead mime to a backing track, or whatever. It enrages me. Why should we call them singers if they don't do that? It's like calling someone a writer even though they've never written anything in their life.
All singers should SING, live! Unless you're being thrust through the air at rapid speeds and tipped upside down every few seconds, there is no excuse for it. It's just laziness and it also makes me mad when Cowell and co give these people standing ovations and gushing praise for it.
If the singer can sing live, and sing well, then there is no need to mime. I cant accept anyone who does this.

I didnt see the performance but if they mimed that's a disgrace. Even Cheryl sang part of her song live on XF (I think) and Miley Cyrus gave a good live performance live the other night.

You can put effects on microphones the same way you can other electric instruments.
