Failed Recordings >Panasonic DMR xs350

I note that people with Humax foxsats are having problems with failed recordings. I have just had my third failed recording (in 2 months of use) with the Panasonic DMR xs350. (Country Tracks on BBC 1 Wales at 11am, 6 June 2010).
The red REC light just continues to blink. Normally it blinks for a few seconds before it actually starts to record - when it then turns solid red. Another 1 hour recorded programme I was watching just cut out after 40 minutes. As it has twin tuners, it can obviously record 2 programmes at once. That being the case, why does it flash a warning message about overlapping programmes - the earlier recording may finish early? (This has happened when I have set the recorder to do one prog from say 7 to 8pm followed by another from 8 to 9pm).

I wonder if these problems lie with the equipment or the Freesat delivery system? Do people with Freeview recorders have similar problems? Are broadcasters not sending out codes to get the recorders working for the specific programmes? Do broadcasters send out codes or is it purely based on the time on the clock?

I have the same problem, I dont think it is faulty hardware

There is a patch which I have not downloaded or installed to improve reception of program codes (not sure about BS350)

We also have had some strange weather here in Surrey
I think that may be cause.

If you have a very important program to record you could
try timer record, with large margin either side
this still would need a signal but not the program code

I also found that Marget Rutherford was recorded
in three titles with short bits missing but this may be my taste
in films?

My signal quality on BBC 1 is 8 & my signal strength is 10 (out of 10) so I don't think that this is the problem.
