I am due an upgrade on the 13th of June, was struggling to find a reason to leave Blackberry, the battery life of this though makes it very tempting.

I'm hoping the UK doesn't get shafted with the prices.

The US price of the iPhone4 is the same as the US price of the 3GS ($199/$299).

If the UK price of the v4 is higher than the UK price of the 3GS, it'll be rather annoying.

Video Calling "FaceTime" feature is totally pointless. It's basically a handheld version of a webcam :S you can only use it over Wi-Fi to call someone else who has a iPhone 4 aswell
You obviously missed the bit where they released the code as open source so anyone can use facetime streams. And of course it will obviously work in the next version of iChat on MacOS.

Very disappointed that only 32gb maximum storage, and very surprised too. How come there is a 64gb ipod touch but no iphone (obviously a future upgrade to entice us to upgrade next year I suppose). I'm going to have to think really hard about what goes on it now between music, movies and apps. Would have been nice to have the extra storage so as not to need to worry about limiting what I add to my library. Maybe this hints at the fact that physical storage will be a thing of the past with cloud based storage taking over

Registered on o2 for pre order info. Said they might send me a micro sim early so that I have it in time for release so I can use the phone on day of release, very pleased with that at least.

Release date is a Thursday (24th June) which is a bit odd, so might have to take a couple of days off to enjoy my new gadget when it arrives (please be early like the ipad was ).

The display sounds good. I hope it handles current video well as I have tonight downloaded some digital copies of films I got with a few recent Blu Ray purchases (can't wait to see how good Up looks on that screen).

The imovie thing looks good, especially if they can be exported as files to a PC for burning to a DVD like you can with photostory or moviemaker.

Only 17 days to go until it hopefully arrives on my doorstep. Lets hope o2 don't screw up the pre orders!!!

I'm very surprised it wasn't hinted at today that iTunes would go towards cloud storage. Apple haven't just built a brand new $1 billion data centre for nothing.

Also lots of rumours about of Mobile Me going free.

Mobile Me should be free.

Fabulous service but I can't honestly believe people pay for it.

Loved the photos shown from the video that showed two sign language (presumably deaf people) guys communicating.

I'm waiting for the PAYG price, will be investing in that. Finally got a decent amount of upgrades which are fairly significant

I think the lack of 64gb is seriously down to availability of memory - the iPad's popularity has taken them by surprise and they've had to reallocate more 64gb to that. The iPhone ships so many units globally that they just don't have enough now. Wouldn't be surprised to see a 64gb version in january.

I'd guess it is more due to space available in the case, & the physical size of memory chips...

The iPod Touch can have 64GB of storage because it has space for 2 x 32GB chips.

The iPhone only has space for one chip (it has more gubbins in it than a Touch), so I assume that 64GB chips of the correct size are too expensive at the moment (or do not exist?).

Is there space for more even? You have to consider there's a lot of things in the iphone not in the ipod touch e.g. the various radios etc. There's now an enlarged battery too which is taking up lots of space.

These days I think more people are interested in fiddling with apps and games than watching content to be honest. And with the likes of spotify, access to facebook albums etc I think people will keep only select music/vid/photo on the device not entire libraries.

Am I the only one that doesn't think it looks as nice as the 3G or 3GS? I mean don't get me wrong the features are pretty good, but it looks like a Samsung or something similar.
The white version is utterly horrid!!

I think it looks fantastic. . .it's size and it's flat back making it very slim.

It does look very Samsungy.

Cool they've incorporated the touch to focus. . .and the fact the case is actually the antenna. . .along with some other features that other phones released soon will no doubt copy.

Automated folders is cool too. . .holding an icon and dragging it to another to automatically make a folder of that type.

No doubt a MS OS would have made the user create a new blank folder. . .name it. . manually move each app to it.

Just shows the user interface and great experience that has led to 100million iPhone OS devices sold.

I like the design.

Touch to focus is already on the 3GS though.

Don't get me wrong I like the design, but not as much as the curved back of the previous models.
I definitely would not get the white one though, it is hideous!

It looks much nicer than the 3G/3GS. Never was a fan of the plastic/tapered look. I think 4 is one of those where you need to see it to appreciate the design.

The original iPhone is still the king when it comes to design IMO.

Let's let MS release WP7 before we start the trolling. Or we could just all peacefully enjoy the iPhone4 announcement today?

Though I think the rename to iOS 4 is euch. I don't know why they don't call themselves iApple yet.

The phone looks great.

HD video.
The video calling thing will take off with this again.
The screen is probably the best on any phone.

Much will it cost sim free?

You've all missed the reason for the new case. Theyve made the case metal around the edge to turn it into the anntena, so then it frees up a lot more space inside for the other advances.

Great video showing all the hard work and design that went into that phone . . .focusing on the hardware development as well as the software - something Apple does the best in the business.

Then you look at other threads and see other posters post things such as :

"they introduced folders!"

And you just let them make fools of themselves.

I would have liked a 8MP camera with xenon flash but the design and HD video makes up for it.

I have an 8MP sensor in my Canon SLR and it takes pictures that piss on any phone's camera, 10,12,14 MP, whatever you like. 5MP is fine, almost overkill really. Lens and software so very very much more important.
