I didn't know this was even possible until yesterday...

So does anyone else have a 16gb one reserved in Milton Keynes they won't be needing anymore?

Also, does anyone know what 24-Hour Tesco stores plans are... to sell from 00:01 on thursday or what?

From Tesco:
Quote:
“Tesco Mobile will launch iPhone 4, the thinnest smartphone in the world with the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, in the UK on June 24.”

Anyone on Vodafone... people on the eForum are claiming iPad micro sims DO work, they have swapped them over today and using make shift adaptors to use them in their current phones.

Vodafones eForum is down though at the moment and has been for a while. Read it just before it went down.

Vodafone were awarded with best network by both Mobile News and Mobile Magazine recently.

An O2 commissioned survey rated vodafone best network, and a recent YouGuv survey also praised the vf network.

Its a shame they're lettng themselves down regarding Micro Sims!!! But I agree that Vodafone is a great Network and if they handle the iPhone 4 right they could become the main iPhone sellers in the UK.

Quick update re; the reserved situation. I called the Belfast store where I have a simfree 16gb reserved and they advised that any reserved phones will be held until the close of business on the 24th. He also said I need to bring the email confirmation of my reservation. Hope thats of some help to the Belfast people as I know there haveb een conflicting reports from apple.

Yes, Apple. On 24th. However, you needed to have ordered it on 15th so won't stand a chance of getting one now until middle of July at the earliest.

Especially now Apple are having production issues with the screen which has halved the number of phones being produced a month.

Sounds like there's little chance of getting one until the end of the summer then.

Is there a price for it sim free? I'm not even going to bother trying to order sim free I rather wait until they are in stock.

Could somebody give a brief summary of the costs/benefits of buying a sim-free handset from Apple as opposed to signing onto a contract with a provider?

Yes, I really am that clueless!

I'm trying to decide whether or not I'd be better to go buy directly from Apple or just sign up with Vodafone. Although it costs more in the long run, the latter appeals to be in that I'll be able to spread the cost out a bit.

The internet is a wonderful place full of information. I did already tell you Apple sell them sim free, you could have had a look before posting.

However, to be helpfull and not be a complete arse (i'll be an arse but not a complete arse):

16gb is £499
32gb is £599
8gb 3gs is £419
