So are they good then?

I seen there's a few bugs with the screen so I'm glad I'm holding off until next month.

I wanted to use the early upgrade offer this might have stopped me from upgrading.

I'm thinking of doing this aswell but I'm not sure. It will cost be about £400 including the handset, if I sell my old iphone 3G I will only have to pay out for the handset. Im just wondering it is is really worth it as I still have 10 months on my current contract (24 months). It will be a long time to have to wait for the 4G and by then I guess the price of the 3G will have decreased so I wont get much for it.

Changing your data settings

How do I set up my iPhone to use the BT Openzone's network of hotspots?

And here's the generic list of iPhone help on Tesco.

Yeah nor me, I would say it's just the same for signal quality as my 3G.

So Apple iPhone 4 - yay or nay? For those who have one of course!

Would be really interested in hearing from someone who has converted to Apple who has this phone for the very 1st time.

Yay for me, it's a great upgrade from my old 3G and feels far more like a luxury device.

I finally got hold of my IPhone 4 on Saturday after a few issues with TNT, not thier fault though I missed the delivery do had to rearrange to collect it after, anyways so far impressed with the new IPhone it's alot more faster than my 3G IPhone was and has an awesome camera and clear display, glad I upgraded.

It may be worth holding on a tad longer if what's being discussed over on the Apple Discussion forums is anything to go by. A lot of unhappy Apple fanbois!!!

I have the 4 it is my first Iphone. It takes a little getting used to, firstly they fact you cant simply use a song on your Iphone list as a ringtone, really don't get that. few little glitches. The hardest bloody earphone jack to fit in I have ever come across! I had to force the bloody thing in!

That said I am really enjoying it, better reception in my work than my old blackberry bold had. Battery life is good and under heavy use. I say good I mean if I was going out i would have enough to call a cab at the end of the night.

Most pleasing is work has been able to set it up to update my phone calender from my work Outlook calender without having plug it in. I am sure others have been doing this for years but it is working for me and I like it!!

I tried the new Iphone in the O2 shop today.

My views are new software is nice, it's nice and well built. Screen wise is a bit better probably more noticeable under sunlight. Is the screen smaller than the 3GS or just not as wide? Definitely has a more SE/LG touch feel to it but a miles better phone in all ways.

The creen itself is exactly the same size, just more pixcels. The phone itself is slightly smaller and 24% thinner than the 3GS.

I'm starting to like the new Features of the iPhone 4 and its software more and more since the 3rd Party Apps have started to be updated to take advantage of the new software features such as Multi Tasking one example of this is Spotify the App got updated this morning to let you play the songs your listening to in the background and use the on Screen Controls like you would for the Ipod to skip and Play and Pause songs within the App, that makes Spotify alot more handy to use.

Interesting. I guess they mean thinner in across the phone but thicker at the back now it has a removable battery?

The phone is thinner as in having less depth and the battery isn't removable.

I thought the battery can be removed in the 4G model?

Off topic but when do Apple start the adverts for this new phone? They must be due soon as Ipad started a few weeks after launch?

Nope, I have an iPhone 4 and can assure you the battery isn't removable.

You can make your own ringtones using iTunes. Listen to the track you want and make note of the start and stop points of the song you want use. It should be no longer than 30 seconds.

Select the song you want to use

Right click and select 'Get Info'

click the 'Options' tab and input your selected timings in the boxes and make sure these are ticked. Press 'OK'

Then right click the song again and select 'Create AAC version' . Allow iTunes to do it then scroll to the top of the library, you should see your track there.

Now drag and drop the track onto your desktop.

Once on your desktop right click rename ( the file will be a m4a type. Change the 'a' to 'r' so it now says 'm4r') This will change the file type.

Now back in iTunes, click 'File' then select 'Add file to Library'. Select desktop and you should see your ringtone file.

Now it's added back to iTunes, it will be under the ringtone tab. Now you can just drag and drop it to your device.
It sounds long and complicated but once youve done it a couple of times it's a breeze.

Bloody brilliant, I hope this works (sounds like it has worked for you).

I did have a poke a round itunes to try and do this, but it said that I could only do it with a song bought on itunes and then I would have to pay again to have a ringtone version. Which I thought was a complete con, but was not surprised from Apple. I presume this must trick the itunes software into thinking you have done it the 'proper way'.

I'm certainly going to try this when I get home as I miss not having 'Gay Bar' by Electric Six as my ring tone (don't judge me, it works really well as a ringtone).

I won't judge you if you don't judge me for using 'Lapdance' by N*E*R*D as my ringtone.

It works like a charm on all versions of iTunes.

It's not supposed to be but it's very simple to take the back off (two Phillips head screws and slide it up) and it's not a solder job to change the battery it's just a clip.

There is a tag though warning you that changing the battery voids the warranty.
