I really love this phrase. The Dr has really focused on Bow ties more than any article of clothing ever. I have set up a facebook page if anyone wants to tootle along... Only me at the moment LOL.

That's no way to speak about Amy. There's a whole other thread for that.

He's kind of ruined tweed jackets and bow ties for for anyone that want to be able to leave the house without looking like an odd fanboy sort,

The interaction between nighy and smith in the last episode was perfect when they were discussing their bow ties..

The thing is - bow ties are cool.

I for one am glad they're back. I'm still not sure how Matt Smith pulls it off, but somehow, against all laws of fashion, he does. Brilliant.

Nah - I'm with the late, great, Linda Smith on bow ties. They are worn by men trying a bit too hard to be excentric - hospital consultants, solicitors and the like.
She did concede that Frank Muir was the exception - perhaps she would have let The Doctor off too?

It's definitely a better catchprase than 'GERONIMO!!!' I'm glad that it looks as if the makers have realised that it was going to end up pretty annoying if he was yelling that all the time.

And bow ties ARE cool! I loved the little exchanges between the Doctor and Bill NIghy about their respective bow ties.

'Geronimo' is appropriate when you're throwing yourself into or off something. 'Bowties are cool' is appropriate when you're discussing sartorial choices.

It is very important not to mix these two occasions up.

Totally agree, for years I have dressed in my very own fashion. Sooner or later my "look" has become popular and I have had to address this. I thought I had cracked it a few years ago by adopting Harris Tweed. And now I can't even find one in a charity shop. Looks like its time for a change of look. Hmm I am thinking about a frilly pink dress.

I hear, "Geronimo!" only appears once in any of the scripts for this series, the other mention was adlibbed by Matt. Not sure it qualifies as a catchphrase yet.

I think tweed and bowties have gone the way of converse with suits as things you can't wear without looking like you're going to a sci-fi convention

Its debabtable whether converse with suits was ever a great idea though.

Much like captain jack ruining RAF jackets which up until them had been cool as ****. Dam you Dr Who costume department!

On the contrary. It is heard the end of time part 2, the eleventh hour, the beast below and the city of the daleks.

Its getting there though. How many times has 'Bow ties are cool' been said? Twice by my knowledge. In the eleventh hour and vincent and the doctor. Besides i wouldn't know ALL of them, i'm not some Who obsesed person. I'm not, i'm not, i tell you i'm not! La la la i can't hear you!
