OK. I admit it, I was wrong.
After the first couple of (admittedly ropey) episodes, this did get much better, once the hitherto non-existent plot actually turned up. What on earth can they do for an encore?

Actually, I was referring to the other main actress in Spartacus - the blonde one.
I believe you might mean this;

Lucy Lawless is definitely not blonde!!!

I've found this to be by far the best TV series for several years. It could easily have been a cross between Gladiator and the 300 but failing miserably but somehow it has made it.

I agree about Batiatus. He's a nasty SOB but he's my sort of guy. He has all the best lines but you can relate to all his business and political problems.

Whatever Spartacus does next, you've got to think that Crixus is going to go totally ballistic given half a chance.

Actually her natural hair colour is a matter of much debate.

Many early PR pieces about Xena stated that she had "died her naturally blonde hair dark for the role" and she was rather vague wheneever interviewed.

You can read more on this fascinating subject here.

I've really enjoyed Spartacus.

When it first started I thought the sex, violence and swearing were masking poor writing and plotting but as it continued it seemed to get stronger and stronger with plot strands coming together with satisying conclusions and the development of varying characters being thoroughly entertaining to watch. Hannah was a revelation.

By the conclusion, it was great to see many get their comeuppance in wonderfully violent means. Top draw entertainment and I look forward to the short prequel and the next full series which I believe starts shooting in October.

On a side note I have to say how impressed I am with Andy Whitfield, the lead actor. Obviously he's battled and beaten cancer but I love his 'normaln-ness'. None moreso portrayed than him seeing some videos on youtube that he thought looked cool, emailing the creators to ask if he could appear and then fitting it into his schedule. Brilliant.

I love the fresh creativity of the Freddie Wong. Check out some of his other videos if you can.

I had hoped to see the Legatus's wife (Lucretia is it) come to a particularly gruesome end, so disappointed she managed to escape.

When I found out there was to be a follow up series I expected this one to finish with the main characters still alive.

How wrong was I?

What a way to finish a series!

Take note Prison Break.

What? Spartacus is an old story, there are no spoilers by this point. You might as well watch the 10 commandments not knowing how that ends

Not worth watching now?.

Sorry, you are completely wrong.

And "spoilers" are only good manners, but for programmes not yet shown, not because you havent watched them yet!.

If you haven't watched a programme then I suggest you don't come on here after the series has ended if you don't want to know what happens!!

Your post would suggest that everyone's comments should be covered by spoiler tags.

Yeah Spoilers should be used when discussing things that you know about but they haven't been shown yet.

Once they have been broadcast I'm afraid there's no requirement to use them. If you choose to watch a program later than it's broadcast date then it's entirely up to you to stay away from the forum.

Your are completely unwarrented.

I read the detailed episode guides and still loved the finale

it has to be seen - written words don't do it justice
