sad for me was when Spartacus had to kill his friend after the demo because of that snot nosed kid , cheered when he got his

To be honest, Crius' whispering voice was irritating me more and more each episode. He seemed to get quieter as the series progressed. Far from being menacing, it was laughable, reminded me of that other thug, Phil Mitchell.

Blood and Sand - Region B (UK, etc) released mid May 2011 - Region A (US) has been out since late 2010.

Excellent series (after a fairly rubbish 1st episode) with a nice combination of drama, good characters and of course plenty of nudity, some sex and a good dose of gratuitous violence.

Andy Whitfield will be sorely missed in season 2, let's hope that Liam McIntyre is a worthy replacement.

If PickTV are showing the first series of Blood and Sand (with Andy Whitfield as Spartacus) then I say go for it - however, the first episode is pretty poor, so don't judge it based on that. It takes 3 or 4 episodes to get going and then starts to get really good.

Yes. As long as you're not put off by sex, violence and bad language, it's brilliant. It takes a few episodes to get going; you have to like those "ironically" but then it becomes one of the best shows on TV.

Yes , thanks, I'd have probably given up after the first ep otherwise. It really picks up with plenty of treachery etc. Some really good performances that fit in with the whole style of the show.
