Very sad for his family.

He was known as a bit of a hellraiser in his time though.

That is traaagic news. He was a real character, never heard a bad word said about him. To say he will be missed is an understatement.

I suppose it would be in bad taste to wonder if he spontaneously combusted..

From the BBC Wales arcticle

"He later formed a new group called Killing for Company, who were due to play at Donington Park on Saturday.

The band's new album is due for release shortly"

I saw them play at the Islington Acadmey a few years ago.
Stuart had a massive grin all set, he was really enjoying it.

He played with the other Phonics since the early 90s when they were still a covers band. They sacked him in 2003 because he became too unreliable and was taking his tv and radio career more seriously than the band. Unsurprisingly the Stereophonics got very dull after he left.

A few more bits about him:

Often seems to be that way, it's true. Quite shocking.

Top 5 Sterophonics song?

Traffic
Local boy in the photograph
Thousand Trees
Just looking
Bartender and the thief

First 2 albums were certainly their best.

I agree that they went downhill after the second record, although I did love Dakota.

Local Boy...
Dakota
More Life In A Tramp's Vest
Bartender...
I Stopped To Fill My Car Up.

RIP Stuart Cable.

A lovely guy! When he left the Stereophonics he did a lot of fund raising for various charities in the area he was always in the local paper for it sometimes with his mum Mabel. He always said hello when he was out and about in Aberdare such sad news

This is very sad news. Stereophonics have never been as great scince he left. I remember listening to him on Kerrang Radio and XFM. RIP Stuart. Another legend gone
