That list is shameful IMO. Great if you like watered-down R&B, but take that out and there's not a lot left... I've pretty much given up on the charts this year, most of the music I like just isn't selling at all.

The charts are not doing it for me at all these days. I have accepted now that for me at least they have no relevance; they are dominated by a style of music I generally dislike, but like it or not, it's what people - mostly younger people - are buying/downloading/whatever these days, and that's perhaps as it should be..

Not wanting to sound over-nostalgic, but I do miss the days when the charts had a much wider musical range. I guess the way the industry is changing, we probably won't ever see those days again.

What ARE you talking about? Tinie Tempah is a breath of fresh air. Although Frisky sounds so similar to Pass Out.. I still think hes a fab artist! great beats too. :P

I'm 18 ( so part of this generation buyers etc) , but i miss the ealry 2000's late 1990's where the music wa just really fun, s club 7, kylie, all these songs had spark to them. I raerly fid hat now, 2010 would be obismal without GaGa.

Lady GaGa is the only artist in that list that has deserved her #1's.

Tinneh Tempa is Decent enough but his songs sound too much alike.

Iyaz's Replay is very good though.

Number 1 singles don't mean much unless they stay there for over a week. Number 1 albumns mean so much more.

The Top 10, and number 1's, still don't hugely reflect the majority of people in this countries musical tastes.

Millions of people goto gigs and clubs, can't ever see The Bronx or Sasha & Digweed ever getting a number 1.

I love Tinie Tempah's new song so I'm glad it's heading to no.1.

But it has been a terrible year overall for good music - there IS plenty of it out there but it's just not selling.

Last year's charts were so much better than this year.

Not keen on Frisky put adore Pass Out. Only other song on the OP's list I have time for is the B.O.B. track. Telephone by Gaga & Beyonce was ok but the rest is complete dross...

Oh come on, I think you are calling it a bad year based on your personal likes and dislikes a bit. Fair enough if you look at it overall I agree it's not been as good as last year in terms of memorable hits, but you can't base it on individual songs you might or might not like.

By the way I know Frisky sounds a lot like Pass Out but after a few plays you learn not to care about that and appreciate it for the massive tune it is

i could probally hand pick 20 songs that i really like this year, most years i loved probally over 200, i love music but all this hip hop crap is really bad, aand becaus of it taking up the radio decent songs cant get any radio play.

Far to similar and i guess i just dont like him really, the same as Mercy is the same as the mercy remix

that Tinie Tempah song is awful that list is awful.. any 5 year old could have written those Tinie Tempah lyrics but I suppose this is what the people want.. dumbed down music

No one on that list deserves number one. No wonder I don't pay any attention to the charts any more. Unless one of my personal favourite artists are looking to break into the top ten, even then it's a fleeting interest.

I think Tinie Tempah's songs are popular more for the music than the lyrics. It's a shame really because with better lyrics his songs could be brilliant. Personally it doesn't bother me too much - I've still bought both his last 2 singles because I love the music - but it is a bit of a pity.

I'd say the lyrics of Pass Out sell the track as much as its music. May well be the case that fans of Pass Out were always gonna buy Frisky (i.e. irrespective of lyrics) as it's similar sounding though...

Totally agree, esp the bit in bold, it does sound like Pass Out, but like you said after a while you don't really care as it is such a tune!

the beats do sound the same.. don't get me wrong i did like the beat to Pass Out but I hate the fact that he's used that same fast paced outro again! I'm just saying that this is what people are settling for.. whereas we should be raising the bar now. especially as last decade got a bit of a bad wrap

At least Tinie is an artiste, whether you like his work or not. Cole on the other hand is a passive product, with no artistic input into what she churns out...

Bad Romance, Fireflies, In My Head & Telephone are the only ones worthy of a number one.

The Scouting For Girls song was alright, but Plan B should have been number one that week. She Said is as better song.

OMG is also great but it was predictable it would go to number one. I like the way it doesn't form conventional song rules. It sounds a bit like the male 3 Words, except better, because 3 Words was pretty shite.

I quite like Tinie Tempah though. Sure, his lyrics are a crock of shite, but it's harmless music and his songs are actually quite funny. It's not like he's come out calling himself a sensational songwriter, is it? He was interviewed in More magazine last week and he comes across a real nice guy, who doesn't take himself seriously at all. What's important is that he is very good live, is a nice guy, writes his own lyrics (no matter how crap they may be) and has good beats on his songs. Full marks for Tinie then.

Come on, who didn't laugh the first time they heard Pass Out when he said "I got so many clothes I keeps 'em at ma aunts house" or the now infamous "Would you risk it for a chocolate biscuit" line in Frisky?

I don't think Tinie Tempah is quality at all.. I just think in terms of number ones he's one of the best of a pretty bad bunch
