Is this going to be a regular occurence now, that all her videos are going to be close to ten minutes? I liked Gaga last year but this year she's doing my head in. Everything is so over the top and it feels like she's just doing everything she can to stand out from everyone else when actually 'Telephone' and 'Alejandro' could have been sung by anyone.

i think it's a great video!! but like the other posters have said it surely has the madonna look to it..but i don't see it as a rip off i think it's more less a tribute!!.with madonna and lady gaga they both grew up in new york and both italian im sure lady gaga is deeply influenced by madonna and this video shows that..it's gonna be one of those videos that most will gave to grow into.but all in all this is a great artistic video..can't wait for the new album!!!!!!

I love Gaga, but this is shit. Seriously.

Whatever happened to a 4-minute video? She doesn't need all this so-called 'symbolism' and 'meaning' for all her songs. It's a summery (or WAS) song and now it's been given an utterly bleak and morbid almost-9-minute-mess.

Honestly? I don't think the song's gonna do to well now. And I'm fully aware I'm going to be flamed to hell, but I love Gaga, and I love Alejandro, but seriously. This video is a very poor effort.

I love that she actually puts effort into her videos, and extends them! Her videos are a form of art imo.

I literally adore this video! It looks amazing, the whole concept, the look and the symbolism is just wow! And LOL at all those people who said it was copying Vogue last week and have now realised it isnt and have tried to find something else to pin on her when in fact Madonna wasn't the first to use religion in her videos or tours! Religion is a central theme for thousands of artists, singers etc. and especially as Gaga has recently said she has had some kind of epiphany, it makes sense!

But just to end happily, I love it soooo much!

But it's not her thing, yes she does it, but she doesn't own rebelling against religion. She'd probably be honoured Gaga is referencing her and is inspired by her.

Gaga hasn't just taken an image from a Madonna Video/Performance and copied it almost exactly, she (and probably Steven Klein as well) have taken ideas from Madonna and probably many others as well and put them into a video that is as coherent as you could expect from Gaga. Its not just like a load of random scenes where you sit and play "Spot the Madonna Video this is Stolen From" like other videos from the past few months.

Oh well.

I gave it a go but fell asleep 40 seconds in. No way I was devoting that much time to a song video - very little of which actually had song.

The ONLY thing I don't like is the over repetition of the final chorus of Alejandro, I think it could've done without.

I actually want to tell you to go away, but I wont because you have a right to an opinion but seriously, you would hate anything that she did! Your a pure and simple hater! And to be frank, Madonna didnt invent religion in music so that argument is a bit pathetic!

All Gaga's videos are epic but they have all had an underlaying theme which could be passed off as Madonna. This is probably the most direct Madonna lift she has done so far. Madonna's key trademarks are 'SEX' and they way she regularly pushes the religion bounderies. So this does look like she is trying to be Madonna quite bad. Only Madonna will always do this sort of thing better because with Madonna its more of a statement. This just looks like an attempt to be controversial.

I prefer this video to Telephone which got old very fast in my opinion.

Personally I like the madonna-esque themes to this video and you can see it is inspired by her but I wouldn't say a clear rip off. Yes Madonna is know for the whole religious symbolism but I think Gaga has gone her own way with it.

The song is essentially about homosexuality and what 2 establishments is homosexuality seen as a taboo? The military and the church. So I think the religious and military aspects of this video work really well.

Yh, because 6 out of 8 minutes had song so please dont talk rubbish! I dont mind people having opinions but if you didnt watch it, then your opinion on it is rather pointless and unfounded!

I don't get the comparison either... If I had to make a comparison between Alejandro and anything else I'd say it's like Marilyn Manson's Beautiful People video or any Mylene Farmer video ever. Your average Christina stan baying for Gaga's blood though doesn't have musical tastes that extend that far

But aside from not thinking she ripped off Madonna at all, I think the actual video is pretty boring and a wasted opportunity to be honest. What the hell is the point of doing a winter theme in summer with a summery song? Bleh. Maybe she was trying to avoid being compared to La Isla Bonita again which let's face it would've happened if she put anything remotely Latin, Catholic or summery in it.

I love Gaga but I don't like this video.
I don't get half of it....what is it actually about?
She also looks very odd.
Her hair?!

She really does in some parts doesn't she, she looks kind of ill/house elfish when shes dancing at the beds. Thats my least favourite part of the video.

I love that she has all the army guys with the same haircut as her though!

It wont play on my computer for some reason. I saw the first 2 minutes. Started off well, but as I haven't seen it all I dont know where it is going. It looks very expensive and well produced. I agree Gaga looks different.

I'm accused of not watching for saying it bored me?

Gaga and her videos are simply like Oasis around the time Be Here Now.

Overlong and overproduced just for the craic.

See : "D'you know what I mean" for the similarity.

And before anyone else tries to throw the 'XTina fan' card towards me. Madonna is my idol. It is her I will make comparisons against and it is her I see Gaga constantly ripping off.

Madonna did it all first.

I had to change the quality from 360p to HD for mine to work, it just wouldn't load for some reason.

Yeah she does look different, I think she's got her face pulled back in certain parts to give an elfish kind of look.

Don't people get tired of comparing Madonna and Gaga. Honestly, can't you just enjoy it for what it is.

I was looking forward to the video and its good but a summery video along with a summery sojg would have been better.

It will still get #1 hopefully.

Agreed and just to show I am not being biased Xtina ripped Madonna off in the NMT video too.

I don't have a problem with it as long as they don't do it too much, they need to have their own identity. Plus it gets on my nerves when younger fans don't realise that Madonna did it all first.
