No Darren, Lilia, Brian, Ian or Matthew in the competitive side of the show this year.

I'm HORRIFIED. Was this by choice for the five who are gone, or were they cut?

Quote:
“This year on Strictly there will be 14 celebrities vying for the title. The 14 Professional dancers partnering the celebrities are:

Artem Chigvintsev, Jared Murillo, Robin Windsor, Anton du Beke, Brendan Cole, James Jordan, Vincent Simone

Ola Jordan, Flavia Cacace, Erin Boag, Kristina Rihanoff, Natalie Lowe, Aliona Vilani, Katya Virshilas

Positions in the professional dance group have been offered to:

Lilia Kopylova, Darren Bennett, Brian Fortuna, Ian Waite, Matthew Cutler”

There's only ONE man in the lineup who's REMOTELY decent (other than the new ones that I know nothing about). Anton, Brendan and James are the touch of death to female celebrities. Why would you keep any ONE of them over any ONE of Darren, Brian, Ian and Matthew?

And the women! Lilia was the best pro partner of the women.

Can't believe that they kept Anton ahead of Brian, Ian, Matthew and Darren.
No offence to his fans, but in terms of dance ability, the other four offered more imho

What does this mean??

Dance troup???
Lilia and Darren Can't Win (but there not gone)

No more Matt and Aliona partnership then???

No Lilia or Matthew?!! What were they thinking!

I can't see how Anton (especially) and Brendan have places ahead of any of the 4 pro males cut.

I'm not annoyed that they dropped three men for three new men. I'm annoyed that they dropped Brian, Darren, Ian and Matthew and kept their inferior counterparts; Brendan, Anton, James.

My first thought was "Ahhh, they finally dropped Anton and Brendan, then" when I read the headline.

How utterly ridiculous!!!

What Planet are the BBC on???

How can they not have Ian . . . . . it's just too stupid for words

James will never win because he's not popular enough and Anton's not as talented

I HATE THE BBC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Strictly has just signed its own death warrant and lost the battle with XF, not to mention the plot. Ian Waite is one of the best all rounders and teachers. It looks from the write up of the new guys that the style of dancing is going to be not much ballroom and latin.

I cannot believe they have kept Anton over Brian Ian and Matthew....I think they are bonkers I can only assume its for the comedy factor because I cant see any dance reason for it.

Confusing me..........you put the weakest dancer(Anton) with a celeb and put the likes of Ian/Matt in the dance troupe ???? without their regular partners (Aliona/Natalie) with whomn they have just done a VERY popular pro tour with .....

If these group dances are anything like i've seen on tour then its not all bad but only if i get to see them every week .........

Confused city here

And so much for the persistent Derek Hough rumour....

The pros that have been offered positions in the dance group have all been praised by the judges etc or their choreography, I'm thinking that they want them to concentrate on putting together show-stopping routines and not be distracted by training a celeb

Can't believe they have cut three of the best male pros-why keep Anton:?mad:

But then they split them up from their professional partners?

And if that's the case, WHY are Vincent and Flavia pro partners rather than pro dancers? They are usually applauded as THE best dancers and choreographers.

Oh, my. I so agree. The best teachers have been ousted: Ian, and Darren, and Matthew, and Brian - a jewel! - too. Not to mention Lilia! These are the dancers who have performed miracles in the past few years, and I am at a total loss to understand the decision.
(Renewed: Natalie? Okay, why? Aliona? Likewise. Katya? Huh? She was so not nice, really. And these three stay while Lilia goes?)
I think the BBC underestimates the loyalties of us, the longtime SCD fans. And I think they may regret it in the long run.
