Does this mean that the pros selected to dance with celebs will not participate in any pro routines?

I have worked this out........

Bring in 3 new male pros....no one knows them so may not be hugely popular in the first year.

Get rid of the most popular male pros.....except Vincent who has been kept and is popular but unlucky. James and Brendan are the kiss of death

Get rid of probaby the most popular female pros (Lilia)

Therefore almost ensuring a win for Anton or Erin and then they can be sacked

It does say that being in the professional 'troup' has been offered to the others not that they have accepted.

They will, but not every week - they'll probably rotate the competing pros used in the pro dances.

It does not say they have split them from their pro partners, it says the group will be joined by other competing professionals and dancers (that could mean the other pros competing in SCD).

As for why Vincent and Flavia are not in the pro group - have no idea you will have to ask the SCD producer

Chereographers? ... no

Darren and Lilia, Matthew, Ian are probs better chereographers than them so I'd imagine that's why.

I think V&F vs those you mention is subjective. Although I agree with you, I can easily appreciate those who think V&F are the best.
(Surely though everyone must appreciate that Matt is THE best latin dancer on the show? Correct me if I'm wrong )

What is not subjective is that all those replaced are far better dancers and choreographers than Anton (for a start).

I'm guessing Lilia was cut because they didn't want Darren any more. I don't agree with that decision, but I can imagine it happening. Otherwise it's just plain ridiculous- she's arguably the best pro partner to have on the show.

If you look at the "old SCD" male pros partnered with celebs,Anton,Brendan,Vincent,James.........i suppose you could say they are the 4 most headline grabbing media friendly ones.....

You put the 4 regular female partners of those 4 males in the partnered with celeb group........

But why split Aliona/Matt,Ian/Natalie,Brian/Kristina i've no idea ??

Is it to put the youngest/most dynamic women with the new men ????

I want to see Matt and Ian dance every weekend on my TV and these group pro dances could be spectacular but if that means they have to create new pro partnerships instead of their already established ones thats a big thing for them......i bet you as well they will be tied in and not able to demo anywhere else whilst SCD is on so will the financial reward from SCD just doing the group pro dances be enough to out-weight any demo fees ????
(which in itself is a prob because how can Matt/Ian/Brian do demos instead of SCD without their regular partner ??

I bet Brian goes off into the sunset with this and gets a "pro" partner in Ali for more West end work/demo here and there......

Ian and Matt both very gifted choreographers/dancers,could choreograph spectacular group weekly pro dances but with new pro partners and for what financially wise ?????

Maybe that's why he's not in the dance troup though, because he's not good enough. So instead they'll give him a Dud ... here's hoping

The dance troupe:
Darren- series winner, winner of two Christmas specials, also a third place and fourth place finish
Lilia- series winner, winner of two Christmas specials, winner of the pro-celeb tour, also a second and fourth place finish
Matt- series winner,
Brian- winner of one Christmas special, and a third place finish
Ian- a second and third place finish

Oh yeah, that makes bags of sense

...and there'll probably be an interlude for a Tom and Jerry cartoon halfway through the show the way things are going

I hope all those offered places in the dance troupe give the BBC two fingers and leave.

I don't predict good things for series 8.

On the assumption that Lilia had to be axed if Darren were to be, the changes all make sense to me. That doesn't mean they will necessarily improve the show, mind...we'll see.

Nothing against the axed males...but they are the blandest.

They're not going to get rid of their 2 oldest dancers [Anton and Erin] after, the Arlene ageism c**p last year.The Daily mail would have had a heart attack

I wouldn't be so sure no matter celeb/pro or pro group offer a jobs a job for 4 mths (or more if the celeb tour is tied in somehow even for the "group" pros)..........you tell me how many people at the moment can turn around to a potential employer and say "stuff it",dancers are no different to the rest of us in that regard.
