Get over it. The BBC isn't there to employ your own favourite pro-dancers. SCD has given them all a window of opportunity to increase their earning powers via huge public exposure.

I dont mind change... I was open minded about Alesha and didnt think it was all that bad at judging.

But the last change with the pros has made my interest in the show nose dive - I cant be bothered with it anymore

If the line up is good then I'll watch it, but at the moment I'll be X-Factoring it up

I do like SCD - a lot. However I don't watch it solely to slather and fawn over one or two individuals.
It's a very good light entertainment programe that engages a broad section of the viewing public/nation. Let the 'I'm off to watch the x-factor' brigade go to itv. They'll soon be moaning and whinging about the judge rotation/presenters etc etc.

I've only just dropped into the SCD forum, not had chance to go through all the threads but thread titles alone suggest the attitude/response to the changes has been very negative.

Just asked on the other thread as have not seen it on the DS articles - has it been confirmed that the pros concerned didn't actually choose to step aside from the partnering celebs role for a year or whatever, or are we just assuming?

Personally I would have preferred other pro's to have gone before the ones stepping aside but I'm more than happy to wait and see. Enjoyed Katya and Phil last year and also took to Kristina and Brian pretty quickly too.

But do you understand that if people like it more than you, they might be more passionate than you about what makes it successful and what direction it should go in?

It's not just about which particular dancers have been moved to the dance troupe, although for me they've chosen pretty much my favourites... it's also about what it suggests the producers are going for... age vs talent, 'sexing up the show' vs talent, Anton vs talent

For example I was quite pleased to hear rumours that Camilla was being considered as a judge. Now I can't bear Camilla, and as a person I strongly prefer Alesha. But a move to having knowledgeable people on the judging panel would indicate to me that the producers are taking the show in a positive direction, even if I'd probably have to turn the sound down whenever she spoke.

Turn the sound down Katie? When she'd probably be the only one on the panel with the manners not to use personal snide remarks or act like she'd got an electric cable up her backside?

On the OP's point I'd like to add that I'm not that hysterical or OTT about these changes - In fact it's the changes that aren't likely to happen which rankle most with me. ie The judges panel

It's not like I have the sound up for any of the other judges!

I know what you mean I tried for a while to listen to just Craig but it's easier to just leave it off altogether and put the kettle on or give the cat 5mins of unexpected fuss

I find it a tad embarrassing watching adults re-living their childhood on TV tbh, and cannot get the memory out of my mind of Arlene once chiding the other judges with the comment 'C'mon guys! we're supposed to be here to give the show credibility'...Oh yeah?

I think the initial reaction would always be negative. It depends on exactly what they are planning as to how it all pans out.

The judges for example. If I see Karen Hardy appointed
Louie Spence
Its about making Strictly better, not different.

I reserve the right to be hysterical and OTT if I want
Why should it bother you how people express themselves about a show they love?

So we're not allowed to have our own opinions now then? There's always one

Yes, some of us have been very vocal about these changes - but has it occurred to you that we may be more involved in it than you, and care more about the pro dancers than even the show itself?! It's the way they've been treated that's causing all this uproar, no-one thinks the BBC exists just to employ our favourite pros! please don't insult people's intelligence in such a narrow-minded way.

Nobody in Liverpool calms down in the Anfield Kop.
They would need to be sedated.

We have no idea yet how the pro group thing is going to pan out........Matthew went out week 1 last year and then did a lot of pro dances because he had the time so how is that different from what is suggested now. ???

Dont get me wrong I really like Matthew and think he is a fantastic dancer BUT he is very quiet and reserved naturally and I found his VT's with Christine positively dull so maybe thats some of the thinking....perhaps he will be happy not to have to deal with a celeb and just do what he is best at.......dancing.

I would ignore any posts and threads by 'trunster' and his nasty, misogynist, lager lout attitude to women. Here are quotes from some of his previous posts:

"Aliona looks like an eastern european stripper. I may be mistaken but I'm sure I saw her performing in my local lap dancing venue the other night."

"Rubbish, she has the best knockers on daytime tv"

"I knew the fat northern woman was going to be stuborn and take the highest amount because:
A) She was fat
B) She was northern
C) She was a woman "

"Gabby Logan knows absolutely squat about football, she's a woman"

Am trying to ignore him, but that comment about Aliona is downright offensive

I like SCD but I agree with the move. Last year the pro's demanded more money and it was pure greed as they are replaceable. The BBC need to try out new and cheaper options and, although I love some of those going, I support the change if it is being done for economics. I just hope they follow it through across the corporation.

Things I disagree with though are...

Why not Anton too?
You cannot sex someting up and lose Matt Cutler at the same time (so that's obviously not the reason).
I expect them to also change the hosting and judges or ensure their income from it is drastically reduced.

Most if not all of the original female dancers have already been replaced, so why not the male dancers as well? Was there uproar when the women were got rid of? I can't recall.

The changes have nothing to do with the economics. The fee paid to Bruce is more then all the dancers and judges get rolled into one, so he should have gone.
