My brother got a red and white card thru the door which was the kind you get from the postie when he has a parcel but you're not in.
He ran after him to say he was in and the postie said don't worry it's actually an advertising leaflet.

It looks very much the same as the card left when you are out but it's advertising BT's phone and broadband deals.


This would actually encourage me not to use BT......not that I would unless there was nobody else to give me the services I required.

So basically your saying your brother got a leaflet, didn't read it and ran after the postie and your blaming BT for it.

I seen them, I have not had one myself, but a mate of mine did.

If you look at it quickly it could be mistaken for one of those cards and may confuse some people.

My mate told me to have a look at it and I knew what it was just by looking at it.

I am blaming BT for misleading leaflets.


If they want to advertise their phone and broadband fine but don't make it look like something it isn't.

If your selling cars you don't make the leaflet look like you're selling condoms.

Making people think it's the card from the postie when they are unable to deliver a parcel is ludicrous.

Right.. ok so don't get me wrong here - but I fully understand what you're saying.

Here's what I'm saying...

1. How are they misleading ?
Is there any info on the leaflet which is "not accurate" ?


2. Are you not clever enough to realise that BT have issued advertising that actually makes people look twice at what's come through the letter box ?

It really doesn't bother me what comes through the letter box from suppliers... they are all at it... big deal. Sounds quite clever if you ask me. People will actually read it getting the message across to a wider audience rather than the usual mailshots that I can glance at and and put into the paper recylcling without even reading it.

I doubt for one minute there's actually anything misleading about the info in the mailshot.... by all means prove me wrong though.
