It seems to me the suits at the BBC think keeping the more controversial figures will attract more viewers. This is the only conclusion I can come too when you look at whose gone and who is supposed to be staying.

Ola is fit.

That's the only reason they have lasted this long.

They could hardly ditch Ola, She's the reigning champ, and I did grow to like her last year. But I can't warm to James at all.

I am a big Matt Cutler fan and never warmed to the Jordans that much but after seeing them on the pro tour and meeting them after I have changed my opinion of them and told them so at the time. They deserve their place on the show in my opinion but am very sad about the others especially Matt.

I like the Jordans and am glad they are staying. The trouble is everyone has their own favourites and its impossible to please everybody. Its possible the Jordans are relatively popular with the general viewing public.

Pity they do not come across that well on the show then.

They are two of the weakest choreographers I think.

The ones they have got rid of, are some of the best choreographers, so a ridiculous decision.

They've had a huge reception on tour, and they are fabulous dancers, not to mention lovely people.

Ola is a brilliant teacher, not to mention defending champion. I would hardly call her controversial - she's actually quite shy! (and she's not the only one who wears revealing costumes!). And with James I've been waiting all day for people to make inferences to things which happened years ago - he wasn't controversial last year - he was brilliant on ITT and quietly supportive of Ola but full of praise for the other dancers who were getting far in the competition.

They're more popular than some people think, and have more than earned their places in the show. It makes me laugh how anything bad to happen to Strictly is always blamed on them in some way

Ok, so they're not the best choreographers, but that's not what it's all about. Their choreography is clever rather than spectacular - and it clearly works in Ola's case! There can only be one best choreographer if we're going to have a hierarchy, and although I'm sad to lose the pros who are sidelined, it's not James and Ola's fault!

That's a matter of opinion - Ola's always come across extremely well, especially on ITT. And James was entirely unbiased on his midweek reports last year - can't ask for more than that when the dancers included his wife!

Ola's choreography may not necessary be the most difficult or the most spectacular, but it's very clever - she's never had a naturally talented celeb.

Of course it's a matter of opinion and that is mine. You have yours and I have mine. I do not think they come across well on the show. I accept that James has learnt to curtail his behaviour to be more acceptable to viewers - I prefer Flavia's midweek reports or Karen's to his.

It's great that Ola has fans on the show, I warmed to her last year, Chris really brought her out of her shell, but I do not enjoy her routines. Oh and yes, that is my personal opinion, it is what I think and is by no means the judgement of everyone. I do not blame the Jordans for anything, they are just not my cup of tea.

The answer is simple. It's because they are bloody brilliant. The ONLY question that needs any kind of answer is why is Anton still there? Utterly ridiculous!

Oh I wasn't insinuating that you were blaming them for everything! Apologies if it came across like that, it just amuses me that there's a thread asking why the Jordans are still in the show, and a thread about Anton, but not any of the others - it's so regular now! I'd be on the other side if I posted on the thread about Anton anyway, so I fully understand not liking a dancer, I was just providing a counter-argument to yours - my opinion solely as well

And I can understand not enjoying her routines - I never really enjoyed Brian's, but I do think he should still be in the show - it's not all about choreography after all, which I think shows in you warming to Ola as well

Personally I think they did a lot in the last series to become more popular with the public.

Ola is the champion so she cant be THAT unpopular...infact I dont think she is......she has never had a celeb that was naturally talented, but last series her and Chris were the dream team for me their fun was infectious and they were the only thing that kept the series from being a complete wash out.

James has made it difficult to warm to him sometimes but I thought he did a great job doing some of the stuff on ITT, and I am now a fan.

Are we going to have a new thread asking why each different pro has been kept? Apart from Anton, it's all subjective surely.

I'm not a fan of James, and not especially of Ola either. I agree with some people who say they are weak teachers and Ola is also a weak choreographer. But It's just my opinion. I'm not particularly surprised they've been kept on. Personally I would have got rid of Kristina before I culled the Jordans...

Well I would prefer Darren and Lilia any day. Two brilliant dancers as well as two of the best teachers in the competition.

As a girl even I can recognise this, thats why she's still there and her personality really came through last year, and James was very good on ITT. Think he'll be in line for more presenting duties.

I'm glad they've kept the Jordans -- they're great dancers and a very sexy couple.

Disappointed that Anton and Brenda are still there though.

James Jordan sexy? He's about as sexy as the black death.

I loved Ola last year but that's once in four years and James is the kiss of death for any female celeb. Gabby and Cherie would've been finalist material with another pro.

I'm happy to see them stay. Ola is very popular with her celebs and is good at producing entertaining choreography.

James is actually a nice guy as we saw last year. His problems came about because he said what he thought, which isn't always wise. He's not very a very eloquent speaker and his choreography tends to be simple and fairly elegant, but he is a good dancer. He does well if he listens to Ola's advice.

Gabby lost out because of her attitude (not that there was anything wrong with it IMO, but people didn't take to it). All the dances she did were excellent.

Cherie... could someone else have taught her to do fast latin? I don't see it really. And that's the reason she lost out.

The only one you might conceivably say James might have had a negative effect on was Georgina, and in fact she outstayed her welcome.

All this and I don't even like James! I will say I think his choreography is often good, certainly better than Ola's.

Cherie would never have been a finalist, she couldn't dance the faster Latin. Ola has got 3 of her celebs far further in the competition than they should have been given the competition they were against. Gabby was unpopular in her own right as well, and Georgina was never going to win. The only shock was Zoe, and that's because people were buying Craig Kelly's 'I want to get to Blackpool' story.
