Yep, your right that was a stupid comment I made

Think it is sad the way things are going, feel especially bad for Ian when he hasn't had the chance to win

Darren also lifted Natalie Cassidy in the tour, which Vincent didn't attempt when he danced with her during the main series.

To be fair to Vincent, Darren did have some trouble doing lifts with Jill in his first series on Strictly but he still did them and unlikely other pros he learns from his experience and took action to improve in that area whether if is lifts or Argentine tango - can't say that for all pros now can we

Hadn't he done his back or something? I remember a bit where they tried a lift and he had to stop.

I said the same

I don't see why the lifts matter anyway. They are not done in most dances, and I could live without them in the AS. I think VIncent is just more recognisable to the casual viewer, partly due to tabloid coverage. That seems to have been the main criteria for deciding what men to keep.

Though I do like Vincent, Brendan and co. And so am not complaining about anyone staying although Anton is maybe a bit out of place now given the direction the show is going.

Yes he had done something to his back but was that not done by doing a lift incorrectly?

I just thought Darren said something on ITT about how he worked on doing lifts after the second series, same with Salsa and Argentine Tango after the third .

Given the new direction of the show do you not think that lifts might be more important?

If they are doing new dances like the jitterbug or lindy hop lifts are going to be more important.

Maybe I should have said that they didn't matter to me (in fact I dislike them). I guess the show could be going in that direction though.

?? - was looking for news on this, and find the forum has been limited to two pages. Is there the original catch-all thread for the changes?

They're all on page 2 (I've looked back and the ones on page 3 are prior to the changes, because the changes fall within the 1 month timeframe) - there was never a single catch-all thread as far as I can remember - I thought the Three New Male Dancers thread started it all, then other threads sprung up quickly to discuss different parts of the changes and reactions, so there wasn't really time for a catch-all thread!
