Yeah, I've been on her website numerous times and have taken quotes from it and shown them around DS but most people still think it's a load of pretentious rubbish. I just think it'll be a shame that people will not only be voting for her because of how she's been acting, but because of their misconceptions and presumptions about her life outside the house.

That is how it often gets here, unfortunately.

Sometimes, it's best to let excessively negative threads go, let them drift off the front page and into the vast oblivion of old threads, rather than keep them active by arguing back.

BTW, I recommend Mesostim's "blame index" thread. Here are the Shabby posts:

I know it's a bit vague... we need to look back to BB5 for Shell to make a comparison on that one... Middle Class and an artist... don't remember it as a reason for a ranting thread... but then again I may have started one, I didn;t like her much...

Oh... lest we forget... "Being an Anarchistic Rebel"... 10 Blame - That's a bit like shooting fish in a barrel... if you don't get a "Rebel without a clue" cliché in then you broke the internets. Do make comparisons with Kitten... lots of them.”

I'm not sure the 2nd post has quite understood how the blame index works, unless its intent is sarcastic. It's beliefs that she's a posh sponger etc (beliefs since she isn't actually those things) that would increase the index so that she was blamed more than she deserved. -- Or alternatively, it's her high blame index that has her sort of squatting treated as if it were that of a posh sponger.

The index is about how much worse (than they are) a HM's actions tend to be seen as being.

Hijack BB's Amy Jackson -- the one who cleaned squares -- also got the "pretentious rubbish" reaction. But some of her stuff (she didn't just clean squares) was very good. Still, she was a "conceptual artist" and therefore her art obviously must be pretentious rubbish.

One thing I like about Shabby, btw, is that she isn't holding back and playing a careful game in the house. She is burning brightly even if it does burn the bridges in front of her.

Time for the Bladerunner quote: The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long. And you have burned so very very brightly, ...

yeah, and that probably will be her downfall, but at least she'll have been great while it lasted. I think she came out of this night's HL show very well, but I've heard she was a bit of a madame today so maybe she won't look so good on tomorrow's show. Hope I'm wrong though.

Seems like she's a goner then?

Shame, to be honest I've seen virtually nothing of LF this year so don't really know what she's done to be hated so much but she's still the one I like most from the HLs and think she could be a really good HM if she stays longer. Hopefully something happens to change things by Friday - I don't find Rachael that interesting (like a lot of the HMs) and Sunshine just seems a bit pathetic

I think it could be close, Sunshine seems to be really disliked as well.

Unfortunately, it looks like it will be tomorrow when voting opens -- which could mean right after some unfortunate highlights.

Unfortunate only because of the imo rather odd way that many viewers react to housemates, though. This, for example, will not go down well
Quote:
“At 14.20 she left the dining table and ran to the walk-in wardrobe for a cry. After slamming the doors repeatedly, she then collapsed to the floor, sobbing and hitting the ground. Tears turned to screams and the clearly upset Shabby finally let her emotions go. She proceeded to hide herself in the toilet, trying to stay away from the cameras. When she finally reappeared she was saying out loud "what a bunch", clearly showing her anger towards her fellow housemates for nominating her.”

Some of the comments on that C4 story are encouraging, though:

@Charlotte Campbell: That's always the problem though; whenever anyone does something on the show everyone watching says they're in the wrong for saying/doing whatever it was, and it's almost always the women saying it about other women. 3 women up for eviction and yet Govan survived for another week, he causes trouble it seems to Me and yet the worst people can say about the 3 up for eviction is Rachael is a bit vain, Sunshine is a bit boring and Shabby is a bit loud. To Me, Sunshine is just serious, Shabby is just lively (which pete bennet got away with f.y.i) and Rachael is aware of her appearance, but so what?? hardly a crime, is it?. Shabby&Caoimhe<3 Today 08:49 PM

shabby i personally like shes one of the best housemates, she in the same position as sov like last showing her bad moments, she's pretty amazing and she seems to be pretty good at standing up for herself and not letting people get her down hense the reason why she went off to cry she obviously is trying to hide her weak side incase she gets picked on, i know the feeling,

and shabby's gay!, she isnt afraid to be who she is <3

Josie Today 08:41 PM

i agree with the sov thing shabby is being picked on atm :/

Boom. Today 07:53 PM

Yeah, she's overreacting, so what?! Please, we don't want a repeat of the last bb when the public voted out all the interesting/fun people and we were left to watch the boring ones..
It's the last one guys! C'mon, so what if she's stroppy ot whatever-it's more interesting that way! :P

Niamh Today 07:45 PM

i agree with what people are saying about Sov ( who btw i love ) there showing the bad points all the time :/

soA Today 07:28 PM

Shabby is in the same position that Sov was in, bb is purposely trying to show us bits of her crying and what not to manipulate the public opionion of Her. In the last bb when Sov got out of the house She told her fansite a very different perspective of what was actually going on the house. Simply by cutting out certain clips and expecting me to view Shabby in this light is a preposterous assumption.

SHABBY TO WIN!! Today 07:12 PM

awww i wish i could give her a hug to make her feel better =]
SHABBY TO WIN! XXXXXX

Lin Today 07:07 PM

Shabbys the best housemte!! shes loud to be human n let her nger out... shes just basically reallised that she may go on friday!!”

BTW, I thought Mario's reason for nominating her was interesting:
Quote:
“Mario nominates Shabby. He says she is such a strong personality she is suppressing others”

Yes, we mustn't have strong personalities in Big Brother!

I hope she stays, and sunshine goes...

I loved Sov too and fear Shabby will go early as well

Interestingly, when I speak to people who only watch the HL's, they want Sunshine to go so there is still hope as long as BB isn't too harsh on her in the HL's.

yeah, I have noticed that Shabby has rarely actually come across badly in the HL shows. I think that might change tonight though when they show her reaction to being nominated, but hopefully it'll be a light edit

The 3 girls were on great form last night -- back (except briefly) to the way they used to be, random and fun, and kind to Rachael when she was upset.

Shabby still had her mouse costume. Sometimes she was wearing parts of it, sometimes Ife was (and Shabby's military jacket was loaned to Rachael a couple of times while Rachael was still up).

Caoimhe had hurt her leg, it became painful, and Ife (!) carried her over-shoulder into the living room, then later into the DR. When Caoimhe came out, she briefly pretended it was serious, which briefly alarmed Ife. Then Shabby and Ife disagreed about whether ice should be in a tea towel or a J-cloth.

BB got into the act by twice sending them on battery-changing missions into the bedroom. (Early task? Hoping to get the other HMs annoyed?)

Caoimhe climbed up to kiss one of the cameras.

And they talked for ages about things that weren't BB or other housemates. It was entertaining even when random. Caoimhe tried to explain something by starting with the universe then working down to what was inside our bodies, eventually arriving at "energy". Then she had some doubts about gravity, thinking there might be energy pushing us down instead. Ife talked about visualisation and "the secret", but what she said made fairly good sense. She pointed out that people did much the same thing when planning ahead, for instance by saving to buy a house. (Those are just some of their topics.)

I think it's my favourite late night so far in bb11.

She came over well last night (though you would never think so from the comments on the forum). The blame index thread is brilliant. I am afraid it is quite right - as soon as Shabby said in rather a posh voice that she was a squatter she was dead in the water, and nothing on earth could have saved her.

Still voting for the unutterably dull and whiny 'Sunshine' (it pains me to call her that) as soon as the lines open though.

Yes wonkey, unfortunately from that moment on she was 'evicted housemate walking' - though there is always hope...

I'll be voting to evict Sunshine too, even if all it does is lower the final eviction percentage.

I watched 'till around 3am, it was one of the best nights so far. I don't know if much will make the HL show - JJ was being a complete berk toward Rachael. Still no doubt he'll be forgiven because he's 'fit'

As a Shabby fan, who should I be voting to evict? Don't want to split the vote. Are Shabbyvians voting a particular way to maximise Shabby's chances of staying?

"Shabbyvian" Like it

Anyway I am a Shabbivian and I'm voting Racheal if that helps. Although some of that is due to me not liking her anyway.

Shabbyvians! Love it! I think I'm going to send more votes Sunshines way - I really felt for Rachael last night and I don't think its really fair to evict someone who didn't get enough nominations to face eviction - but I will do one or two for Rach just in case.

Look at the eviction odds thread. Rachael looks safe in every poll. It definitely looks like a two-hander between Shabby and Sunshine. Unless you like Sunshine, I would suggest voting for her.

Shabby looked totally like Fairuza Balk (The Craft version) when she was glaring at Ben at the start of this scene (before he mentioned acting).

Imo, Ben deliberately upset her and then played innocent, just as he did (imo) with Sunshine and his verruca comment.
