Some soap characters are incredibly dodgy dressers. I'll get the ball rolling with my list...

Alfie Moon.. those shirts, accompanied with the matrix-type jacket!

Kat Slater.. need I say more? Slappppppper!

Roy Cropper: that jacket must be home to 50,000 different species of dust mite by now. Seriously, he never changes it, creepy!

Spencer Moon.. following in his bro's footsteps, saaaad.

Les Battersby! One word: Snake-skin-pulling-jacket!

They're the first 5 that came into my head, add whoever you see fit!

Lol, good point.. the question is what is she trying to hold up!

Kat has (deservingly) been mentioned by everyone so far.. If she's still in the soap in 10 years time, will the leopard skin still not be retired??

Of course, Liz McDonald.. hideous!

Not a fan of Sharon (ee) and Gail's (corrie) passion for black. Sharon ahs been wearing that black suit jacket for ages now, and Gail never goes a month without appearing in that polo neck..

Lol, true. But would a little colour variation be too much to ask! Unfortunately Deirdre often wears that bright fire-truck red top too, which highlights the throbbing neck veins when she gets miffed at Tracyluv etc.

Erm.... well they're dressed by a bunch of people who dress them.

As always with soaps, it worries me if the people behind them actually think people act/dress like the charactersin these attempted programmes on a regular basis.

But I suppose they're not there for anything other than to entertain those who are easy (to entertain) and give false representations of what life is actually like. As long as people care about what happens to Kat Moon, who gives a shti about real people?

Well you did hit the nail on the head it IS entertainment so who cares if they are a false representation of real life. I feel from your post you have issues with soaps, thats fine but dont assume that people who like soaps dont care about real people. It's all about watching a programme for a bit of entertainment. Im not easy to entertain and you could argue that all TV shows appeal to people who are "easy" to entertain.
Anyone enjoying Saturday's early evening TV at the mo must surly be the easiest people in the world to entertain, and there isnt a soap in sight

Mind you, this was 70s garb, so you may find it strange if watching these days. What we forget is we may all have a piece of clothing we can't throw away and enjoy wearing. Matter of taste !

Totally agree with those, especially Les Battersby's " pulling jacket". Saw Kat Slater wearing trousers on EE last night is this the first time ever she has worn something other than a really short PVC skirt?

no no non no no, this was 80s best, it's hard to believe how fashion has changed in 20 years.

Lol, I'd forgotten how crazy Viv's clothes are... And what really throws me is that she seems to think that she's got better taste than anyone else. Sorry Viv - good taste and Viv Hope cannot be included in one and same sentence

Sally has a really horrendous multicoloured strippy jumper that makes me feel physically sick when I see it. But for all round bad wardrobes it's a tie between Liz McDonals and Viv Hope, with Deidre Rashid in the runners up position.

Personally I reckon everybody on Corrie and Emerdale will soon be wearing the same clothes. I hear ITV's corporate branding is going OTT and everybody is going to wear blue and yellow clothes to save money. That will be worse than Dot's coat and Kat's leopard skin (I know she's called Kat but that just takes the biscuit).

Well Bet Lynch never retired the leopardskin, and was twice Kat's age Kat's tops last week were just the worst, with the webbing bits across the tits. But Liz McDonald's dress sense is probably worse than Kat's, just because she's older, and has the crappest hair. That, and the fact I can't stand her.

Liz has the worst hair I've ever seen. It looks like two cats had a fight on her head then died.
