Is that a digital TV show or a torture?

last week it was a Katie gets married show. This week she is on Question Time as an expert in put downs?

A lesser torture.

Though I like the words 'Katie Hopkins put down' in a sentence

On Question time
BBC really dumbing down now - bad enough having the likes of Kelvin McKenzie & Piers Moron on there.

Who next? Katie Price?

Sometimes watch it but couldn't take much of it due to her unfortunate voice and manner. Not particularly easy on the eye either...

Seems like the BBC's idea of providing 'balance' on the panel since the coalition government is to have a barking right-winger on. Step forward Philips, McKenzie, Hopkins et al.

I can't understand what on earth qualified her for Question Time. It was pretty clear she had no idea about anything.

'Bomb universities!' That was her catchphrase.

And I may be wrong but she seemed to have enjoyed the pre-show hospitality rather a lot.

She's an idiot! I was incensed when she started on university funding and fees, something of which she knows clearly knows zilch. Elitist much.

I agree with you especially the bold bit, to me she came over as particularly air headed and seemed to know sod all.

Hahahaha! Didn't she quite like a drink in her series as well?

Yes, though now I think about it she was also the person who ccused another candidate of being out of control with his drinking in the boardroom as a way of undermining him.

I never fully understood what went on with her at the end of that series, it felt as if she was being got rid of since the sudden decision that she couldn't combine motherhood with being the apprentice never quite rang true but if he didn't want to have her as his apprentice why didn't sirlordcalanunclesugar just fire her?

Well, if she had been talking about an intellectual elite, I would've agreed with her, but I don't think she was...

Yes, she mocked his choice of wine, I believe. She also called him "C-Stream" in a talking-head segment. If I remember rightly, that contestant was working-class.

“When your best friends are Mr Pinot and Mr Grigio you want to watch it” she said of another contestant.

Bit rich from a suffocating b!tch..... horrible person.

Katie never wanted the job with Amstrad - she set out to be a pantomime villian in the Nasty Nick (big brother) mode, with the idea of getting TV work off it.
The pity is, it worked - sad inditement of our times

Totally agree with that. It seems that she totally fooled Sugar until at the last moment the TV people told him what she was really like. Hence the sudden weird way he gave her the chance to jump. Editors earning their money there!

The candidate she accused of drinking too much was Adam Hosker. They hated each other. Not so much because he was 'working class' but a northerner (Lancashire). Also because he was pretty talented and a real contender. After him she started to try and undermine Kristina. Definately did for two other weaker candidates as well. Bet she worked on Jadine as well (who quit due to pressure). She ruined S3 for me.

What I hate the most is that she showed the TV people what happens if you include a nasty piece of work to TA. Previously they had the delusional eg Syed, Jo, Tre etc who were fun to watch. As Katie seemed to make even more viewer impact, they tried upping the back-stabbing quota for the next series (S4) and got Jenny Celery, Claire, Helene and Lucinda. Either toned it down for S5 or Ben and Debra didn't turn out as planned.

Btw she went to Sandhurst. Adam later wrote that he'd worked out that while there she'd been on a military intelligence course. That would have trained her to work out peoples' weaknesses and exploit them.

Oh and after the Apprentice she joined the Met office. Got sacked after a few months after her latest affair got snapped by the tabloids.

Nah, much as I dislike Katie's treatment of him, Adam was pretty useless.

IIRC, she worked for the Met Office before the Apprentice.

Aaaarrrrgh, this woman seems to be stalking me everytime I turn on the tv or listen to the radio she's on spouting some nonense about how she conducted a board meeting at the same time as giving birth and how women who wish to take maternity leave clearly just have no stamina and should be banned from going out in public or some such nonense

(sorry I know I'm exaggerating a little but every time I hear her voice I have a sudden urge to punch something)

She did and she told the show that she earned £90,000 from doing so, something which they later said was utter rubbish.

Technically correct now that I've looked it up and checked. A BBC article at the time states she joined in Sep 2006. Which is very close to the start of the Apprentice filming. Like two weeks. Took two months unpaid leave and was sacked within a month of TA ending on TV in early June 2007. Two weeks later Digital Spy has the story that she's been asked to join I'm a Celeb..Get me Out of the Country/a job/a place in your hearts (delete as see fit). Public voted her off second so not enough time to flash her tits or try and get off with Chris Biggins.

In 2008 she probably annoyed some more people quietly.

In 2009 she tried to become an MEP for SW England. Of the 4 million population, just under 9 thousand voted for her 0.6% of the vote. And that's enough to get her on Question Time? Obviously. *smacks head*

it was good to see a couple of audience members took he to task on that comment.

Maybe they thought there was a connection with the Junior Apprentice ending. But in fact any of the Junior Apprentice candidates would have talked more sense than she did.

Maybe someone in the Question Time office owes her agent a favour.
