Which festival?
I went to Glastonbury 2 years ago and absolutely loved it, it was just fantastic, but I missed the tickets for this year and wondered what the next best thing might be?
I don't want to go to Reading or Leeds because the "fans" bottle the acts which doesn't sound all that friendly (unlike hippy glasto). What festivals have you been to, and which of them have that wonderful atmosphere like glastonbury? I really love all the extra areas and market stalls and little bars and events as much as the music. Any suggestions?

I went Reading last year and in 2007, had an amazing time last year. I don't think its that bad anymore really in terms of the bottling... I'd say thats the next best one

I've been to Reading 4 times and the bottling isn't as bad as you may have heard. They only bottle acts they consider to be 'jokes' such as Panic at the Disco. Although obviously this is still very unfriendly and I don't like it either. In general, the people there just aren't that friendly and I won't be returning.
I'm trying Latitude this year as I've heard it is much nicer , sort of like a mini-Glastonbury.

has anyone been before? It's a lovely festival, beautiful location, friendly people, lots of fun stuff going on. Not sure what the line up is this year, but when I went it was mostly unknown bands. We all just sat around in the sunshine and discovered new music. It's great, I'd highly recommend it. |

Latitude is the next best thing to Glastonbury, especially if you're not bothered about those huge headliners. Florence is headlining though, so in my opinion that's better than having all 3 of the headliners of Glastonbury!
But the atmosphere is gorgeous, I left last year and made a new best friend and Theatre/Comedy/Film stages are always incredible! |
