Derren Brown Seance (Live..Monday..12 People??)
Probably completely off target, but it seems quite a coincidence that Derren Brown (whose series is currently airing on ch4/E4) will be conducting a live seance with 12 members of the public on monday at 10.35pm. Detailed information about the show is sketchy, but it will run for 1 hour 10 minutes. Its hardly a secret that Endemol have alienated a significant share of their viewers following their lamentable efforts last year. Could this be an attempt to give series 5 an early boost?
I'd imagine not, but the connection remains interesting. |

Good theory! As you said, information about this is sketchy and I only found out about it last night from ad advert on C4. Interesting huh?

Yes, I'm sure someone is about to disprove it. But speaking hypothetically, If they were to pull off a stunt like that so early on and with such an incredible showman, they would struggle terribly to maintain the initial intrest.

It makes sense. It's a good way to really get to know them early on as well.

"a live seance with 12 members of the public"
Sorry to knit pick but who are they going to contact? Seances are ment to contact the dead aren't they? Let's just hope that we haven't got 12 dead people in the house!

HO HO.
It depends how one interprets "Seance", but if you were to base your predictions on Derren's known techniques (including those seen in his live shows) such a programme would be far more likely group participation/ouija board based than anything remotely similar to the home-spun, moribund and shamlessly fulsome rubbish we have to endure from likes of John Edward/Colin Fry on UK Living. |
