On a very personal level it was my mate and me being lent a tape(!) in 1995 of a history lecture that my A Level history teacher had recorded off the radio. Side A was a very interesting discourse on the Third Reich, side B was a collection of the best rock you ever heard. The Who, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones all featured. Suddenly everything started making sense

It was side A that we had to listen to as part of a history assignment. Side B was what remained of his favourite music that was previously on there. Believe me, he was a ladies man. I would have held no interest for him
