Burt Yanks?

Long time ago I watched a friend play a guitar riff and then I played it to someone else who told me it was by someone called "Burt Yanks".

I've got spotify now and I was going to look it up, but can't even find this guy on Google. Have I spelt the name wrong? Has anyone heard of anyone like him? I can't even remember the name of the piece although I'm sure someone told me...

That'll be Bert Jansch; one of the finest musicians ever to strap on a guitar.

Ah thanks Randy. That would explain why I couldn't find him! lol

The track I was after was Angie and I never heard a recording of him playing it, but I'm listening to it now!

None of us played it that well, but I'm proud that I managed to play something which people recognised just from watching someone else play it. That was back in the 70s though, when I dreamed I'd sing in a band and be a good deal more successful than I ever was. Oh, the days!
