to be honest i don't know how people can be so sure it will drop like a stone next week. no one was expecting this to go in at number 1. 40k with no promo is a huge figure. its not even like she has performed anywhere either so her name is selling her alone.

Anyway people are deluded to suggest this album will flop without a hit single. Its gone to number 1 without a hit single and followed a similar trend across several countries. There are 4 tracks on this album that have smash written all over them. Two seriously catching radio friendly numbers and two amazing ballads.

Wow, whitney's last album had her biggest one week sales, so did Mariah EMc2...they went on to be major hits...didnt they?!

A number 1 means sh1t, if you don't have consistent sales. How is that wrong, it has been out a week...and you say, it now has proven consistent sales and I was wrong about it consistency..... Consistent sales means over many months to a year...sweetheart, not one week!

Personally, I dont want her to flop...but I dont think she will do very well either tbh...this time round in comparison to her previous efforts.

Tbh, she has done well, cos she actually changed direction completely from Dont Stop the Music to gangsta-ho- bitch on most of her tracks now.....Doubtless to say she would have done alot better if she had only slightly deviated from GGGB but alas we have Chris Brown to thank for that!

The truth is, I happily dance to NMT as I did this morning...and I made a comment that she will have substandard sales....said she would need a stellar if not spectacular hit to make the album sell really well....and was slated....

How the hell can you say that, these people who are claiming to be fans atcully are fans because I don't think anyone would lie about that. A true fan is not someone who loves every single thing thier fav artist does but someone who is able to say 'yeh this song isn't as good as her others or its shit fullstop don't try that style again'

Not myself tonight is in it's self a decent song but the dull un original video didn't really help. People can't say that lack of airplay is why it didn't perform as well people hoped (it didn't do amazing but #12 isn't exactly a flop), airplay was decent (top 10 if I remeber correctly) and her name is big enough to sell a single. Hasn't anyone here atcully came up with the obvious conclusion that people just can't connect with the song as well as people did with the likes of beautiful.

You lost me and woohoo are very dull and the lyrics on you lost me are cringy and wohoo is just bad.

I haven't heard the album for all I no its a masterpiece but the 3 songs I've heard are dull and souless for me to even consider risking a tenner for an album which has only given me excuses not to buy it.

I actually agree with that poster. A true fan of an artist no matter who it is, would not be jumping for glee at the thought of them dropping out of the album top 10 after a week with the added perfect use of and to drum home the joy at the thought of it flopping.

That to me isn't fan behaviour. I could say what I think it is but I believe it is obvious. Of course you can dislike a release but you don't revel in an artist you claim to like flopping.

I can't understand the argument of delectable anyway. He isn't consistant in various threads. He says on one hand #1's mean nothing but then on the other hand brands plently of the artists who don't go in at #1 flops as well. A #1 is a #1 regardless. It's still a title that can be claimed. You would sooner have a #1 album than a number #15 album. #1 albums aren't the bee all and end all mind. Lady Gaga still hasn't had an American #1 album. Yet no one can take away what she is.

In the UK Bionic has done very well indeed without promo or exposer. That alone is pretty impressive and that is what needs to be taken into account here. She has been no where to be seen. You have to wonder what her sales would have been with an X Factor or Britian's Got Talent performance. So I for one fully expect Bionic to shoot back up the charts once she is in the UK performing material for it. I'd say X Factor was certain this year.

NMT was really effected by that parasites Perez Hiltons viral hate campaign against Christina that took off and everyone was bagging both her and the song.

I was on another forum that had a link to the song on utube, I followed the link, checked it out and it wasn't half as bad as people were making out. I really liked it and I'm not a Christina fan.

I checked out some other stuff of hers and liked what I heard and bought Bionic on Itunes.

I know that what seems to be ticking people off about Christina is her always batting on about her sexuality. It turns people off. But it takes a true superstar to be able to talk crap and still have a huge hit.
Think she's gone into Elton John territory no matter what she says it doesn't effect the publics respect for her talent.

Hear hear! It's incredible and I think this is what is narking so many. They were so sure it would flop. Even the chart projection expected her to miss the top 10 this week! So she has completely surpassed what everyone was expecting so I don't think anyone can say for certain what will happen from this point in. Of course SHE WILL drop next week but one thing I think we can be sure of is a rise once she is in the UK doing promo and if she gets the single and the release date for that single right as well she could have another number #1 single on her hands. Prima Donna seems to be popular with UK itunes users.

Sorry, I have always said positions mean little, unless they are backed up by huge sales. Just ask the no.1 singles of Pixie Lott or Tinchy and Amelle! I only care for sales not positions. They could enter at 11 and stay there for a year, better than being no.1 for a week and dive-bombing. Enter where you like, just sell well, is my moto! A classic example of this would be the PCD album, it peaked at a lowly 7 (position wise), but was so consistent and in the top 20 for an age, it sold over a million, within a year. That was terrific!!
