And yes I brought Gaga into a few posts ago, to say that I was attacked and I hadnt even used her name....all I said was she would have substandard sales.....and the hardcore 'fans' took offence. Have I said her music was rubbish? No. My only crime until mentioning Gaga was predicting substandard sales!

I was just stating the fact at first, that yes I hadn't mentioned her and was still attacked....i.e. you can just say she won't sell as well, and you STILL get attacked by the hardcore fans. Tbh, I dont care whether Pop Art and Ryan B like her or not.......cos funnily enough I do too. But, I keep a realistic head on my shoulders about how well she will do.

And, if im honest, I only see this argument going one way. She doesn't sell as much as we hope...and everyone blames lack of promo and bad song choices or the label...as always happens by hardcorers. Then the people who were right are bashed because they aren't true fans etc.

I think it will sell worse than previous efforts, unless a song captures the public and she produces a massive hit. That's what I asked on the other thread, was there any consensus that there might be one, and I hope woohoo grew on me! Alas this is overlooked, because I'm a hater!

Promo is important this time however. As said on the previous page. She could debut tonight at number 1 without it so you do have to question how much she will sell with promo. I think once she has a song out that becomes a hit from the album. Its sales will increase again. I Am is easily her best ballad for several years. It's a wedding smash. It will have a similar appeal to I'm Yours. So she will be fine in due course.

It's ok, she doesn't over sing it which is good! Alot of singers in her peer group would have thrown in some high ad-libs!

It will probably need a few more listens to know where I fully stand with it!

sales arent the bee all and end all. plently of great albums have never sold much. infact most of the best albums are always overlooked and underated.

at least she can say she got another uk number 1 album. - if she gets it tonight. that alone stops it being a total flop. but i'm pleased if sales are low. she needed a wake up call for all the long breaks and i am pissed rca messed around with the album too much. so if all this is for my benefit delectable you have wasted your time. i have made my feelings on this issue well known several times.

Funnily enough it's not Ryan, as I have already said! I have actually agreed with most of the comments you have made regarding this campaign, except out top 3 next week battle! And, as I keep saying have I even bashed Xtina once or her music??? This was my opinion that she would not do as well as previous efforts....i wasn't horrible about it ala the way we all bicker at Sugas HQ lol! .

Careful about the comment in bold, as the hardcorers have said.....you can't be a fan and want her not to do as well....EVEN if you have your reasons, like you do there!

I have to say I agree with you.
I think Xtina has an amazing voice and the Stripped album was a total epic but since then she's not released anything that I've liked.
The latest single is WAY too cold and electronic and doesn't mix at all well with her vocal style. The video is a sad desperate copy of stuff Madonna did years ago which doesn't help.

However, I've not heard the rest of the Bionic album so I can't comment on how well this will sell. It will probably do well though as Xtina certainly seems to have a large devoted fanbase.

Oasis' final album Dig Ou Your Soul. A great album (in my opinion their third best) and yet it launched with a lead single that had no hook, likewise with a second single with no hook (and one verse).

As a result a GREAT album got to number one , then dropped right down the charts several weeks later.

The difference is Christina's album HAS some songs that will work well as commercial singles but it's up to her to promote, release, and make a video for them. Those decisions are now the key to the albums future.

She's going to be number 1 in the albums this week because she's a major, well known name in the music industry and no other big artists released an album this week. Also, album sales are so low at this time of year, it wouldn't take much to be number. If she had released her album at the end of the year with many other big names and when sales are extemely high, she probably would only scrape the top 10

Lol, Pixie rises back to top 10 in albums, well done to her.. She was 9 on the midweeks on friday!..But when it has been sold at 4.99 for the past 6 weeks (and she's promoting a new single, in one of lowest selling weeks for albums of the year, if not the lowest) if it didnt the record company would be asking MORE questions.

I can't for the life of me understand why the record company expected her to sell a million albums with this album before the re-release!! Half a million which she has got is good...but I suppose they have spent loads and treated her like a princess with all her private jets...so i guess it costs money! From what I hear she was the priciest girl in UK pop last year!

P.S my comments still stand on her singles, 2 of the 4 lowest selling no.1s from last year have her name on them! You cant hide from the facts. The real joker is Cry Me Out, is closing on them and likely to eventually pass them in sales and that made no.12. Again, proving that position isn't important, sales are....that song will become her BIGGEST hit soon enough...and it didn't even make top 10!

All acts are charted relative to each other. If the top 10 sold less, then the top100 sold less.

She sold 9th most albums of the week which is still great. People are spending less money on albums but that doesn't make it easy - she still needs to sell more , relative to the people placed 10 and lower over the course of the week.

Name these 30 countries, because I don't believe you! I have only seen 3 so far, declared....there is probably some more! But, I seriously doubt 30 lmfao!

I used her as a reference of saying having a no.1 does not indicate big sales for that particular single! The same works for albums too!

Yes, we all know they are relative to each other, but this is a rubbish period for sales atm, similiar to the January (although this year Jan was strong ) It just means people sell less to get higher, so their position in a lot of chart watchers in more inflated, as opposed to a no.9 in October say, before the xmas rush starts.
