I personally believe it's because the UK hasn't been exposed to much of the negative press surrounding her. We like talent.

Big name + new album = decent sales. The sales figures do not equal quality - dont be fooled.
Its a complete turd of an album and that pains me as ive been looking forward to it for ages. Ah well, theres bigger and better things to look forward to this year! |

Yep, a shame but no surprise. I kept saying it would sell relatively few, but hardly anyone here was having it
Album sales are a complete joke now. |

I bought it today and so far was not impressed but I did listen to it on a poor system at work and I did have a cold and a bit of a hot forehead,so it might be the cold that did not like it.

Regardless its done amazing without promo and a lead single that did flop.
Once she gets a hit from this album and there are several protential #1 singles here. The album sales will perform. I still predict she will follow a similar trend to Rihanna. Rihanna however had the added bonus of two videos out upon the albums release and another one following soon after. Christina's promo has been shite. And I have to say it. I was spot on about what the Sugababes would do and did and are doing.

she has a few potential #1 singles to be had on Bionic, and regardless of sales i am so proud of her to get #1 without promo! and she will only increase from here now i find, she should get more singles out there and film some video's after her US promo, i wonder how much she will sell after her promo there which i hope are strong sales when it finally charts
and i hope it gets to the top spot there too! Bionic is the best album in ages and i am glad that people are recognising it! i just want her to do what Rihanna did and film plenty of video's for singles and release when she can, i want her to do a single release for Glam and I Am and promote them here in the UK too as well as the US and get Radio One to play Glam and I Am on airplay charts so much, i am fed up of Ridin' Solo played all the time we need some Bionic material on the radio!! and she needs to sustain the amount of sales to ensure she gets the guaranteed sustainability within the top 40 chart, it should be embraced and shouldnt sink without a trace!i want Bionic to do what The E.N.D did last year and that is an average album in comparison, more NEED to hear Bionic, just amazing record! |

Just a heads up - if anyone doesn't already have the album, Bionic (explicit version) digital album is £3.99 today only, on Amazon.

This post is total rubbish!! yet another one of your predictions that has been wrong. Saying it won't be consistant when its already predicted to sell more in America than the album Stripped did in its first week!!!
You have no idea about how Christina's sales work. They are often all over the place. Its been no different apart from the very first album. And using makes it obvious you want it to flop. You must be gutted she can tick the UK number 1 box.Looking at the first 36.2% she will have to work hard to get what she was predicted. Most of the biggest selling stores are in the next third of the reading (where artist usually pick up more than the first)...but still, 26k...does no way indicated more than 330k as you said! |

Well what did you expect? she has a lead single that is out of the chart. No sign of the second single and zero promo going on. The fact she got to number #1 alone is seriously impressive. Just give it time until the singles start coming and the promo arrives and its sales should see an increase. The fact she sold 25k on name alone after a four year absence from the chart is fab. I don't know why you are so eager for this to fail.
The reason why I have quoted the above, was because these are some of the erroneous comments posters made, which quite frankly were incorrect. Just stating the facts. |

As I said in one of the other threads: You didn't need a crystal ball to predict a dismal future for this album. It will be out of the Top 40 in the next few weeks.

You don't need a crystal ball to predict it will also re-enter the top 10 before the year is out as well. Which is more than can be said for the likes of, lets say, Leona.

This album campaign is dead already. They should try releasing a ballad, but I think they'll just abandon Bionic and begin hyping up Burlesque.

I agree with them. It will be back in the top #10 as soon as the second single comes. The album campaign isn't dead because it hasn't yet started. Judge the album's performance once she arrives in the UK for promo in a couple of months time. I have feeling some of you will end up with egg on your faces. Those saying the album is now finished are the same people who said it would miss the top #10 last week!

Gaga won't still be selling on mass in 10 years. That's if she gets that far. It's just the way the game goes. |

It's dropped down to number 10 in the early mid-weeks (if such a phrase exists).

As said the album campaign hasn't started. At least not for the UK. She could protentially have a UK number 1 single after X Factor. She is sure to see a surge. Typical Gaga fans once again slagging off or praying any artist other than her fails.

Either way though the sales are shit. But the album has some strong material on it so I do expect it to perform better once the UK promo comes. You cannot realisticly expect an album where the lead single flopped to sell on a big scale regardless of name. They just need to sort it all out. Back To Basics suffered the exact same way. I think we waited 11 weeks for the Candyman video and the sham with the Oh Mother release is unforgivable. I can't figure out if it is RCA, Christina herself or her management but I think she needs a new team around her.
But the age issue is a factor. Once you hit 30 its all downhill. There is only Madonna who has ever broken this rule on a consistant scale. I doubt Britney will manage it. I think her next album will be her last big success as well. |
