I think you misunderstand the purpose of an appreciation thread. It is for posting nice things about something, not cynical sneering.
I hope he does turn out well. I admire his attitude to life. It would be good to see someone who has actually seen a bit of life instead of someone who thinks that looking a bit like Beyonce makes them better than the rest of us.
Dedicated to an all round good bloke who DESERVES to win BB11 far more that the others simply because of what he's been through in his life already.

Sure, there's no denying that he's had it tough, but no-one "deserves to win BB just because of what they've been through in their life already"
A winner should hold a combination of some of the following traits:
witty, amusing, entertaining, enthusiastic, good fun, good at tasks, thought-provoking, talented, selfless, positive, compassionate, empathic, diplomatic, kind/good-natured, etc etc.
I'm not really getting much from Steve at the moment, other than being amongst the first to go to bed and lots of really loud snoring, and with the potential of becoming another Carole (on the controlling/bossy/order-issuing/fun-sucking front).
Sure, it's early days yet, so the verdict is still out...
But please, no more sympathy vote winners!

eg. if he's up against the likes of Dave or Sunshine, it's more likely that they'll go instead of him.

i think it might be a result of his tragedy, he has respiratory issues, now that its apparent, he can get the medical expertise, hope his doctors are watching BB......

True. Some of them might. Some might not. We'll have to wait and see.
But based on the first 2 or 3 days, I'll have to pass on the offer of joining your club.
Sure, that's not to say that I might not join it a later date. Unlikely, but you never know, lol.

But in the first three days he's the only housemate that I have NO negativity towards. All the others niggle me in a small way for varying reasons.

His snoring on LF is niggling me more than the rest of the others put together.
Lord knows how anyone can sleep in there with that going on. Have you heard it?

having gone through difficult experiences in no way makes someone a deserving winner.
plus he's very boring, the one that sticks out the most as not gelling with the others - not as funny, not as interesting, not as playful, not as watchable.
