...and who knew Steve had such a good singing voice! I found him being so obviously chuffed to bits at Andrew Stone liking his singing very endearing.

That was brilliant tonight - not saying he's a brilliant singer but he put such feeling and effort in it was, as Andrew said, very moving.

I think that will be what the non DS public see, that lovely smile and the spirit in Steve.

I loved the video today! Steve was chucking his heart and soul into it, they all looked like they were having so much fun too, a truly lovely, lasting BB memory not just for the HMs but for us all.

The bits with Steve playing his 'crutch guitar' then dropping his shades down over his eyes had me grinning from ear to ear!

I'm hoping that a night's sleep will recharge Steve, he just looked so tired when he was talking about leaving earlier on today

Dropping in casually to say that it just seems to be Steve's turn on the forum. Everyone seems to get into a feeding frenzy about a housemate and you just have to get through it. It all seems very silly to me. Don't let it get you down.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel the high level of animosity directed at Steve is almost in order to prove a point?

As if people are saying "I'm going to show I'm not going to be PC and tip toe around Steve by being as mean about him as possible"?

It just makes me feel a bit sad that no one can say anything remotely positive about him. He did so well in the singing task and was clearly really enjoying himself properly for the first time. But no one really commended him

Definitely that aspect. He was good in the singing task, and it was nice to see him enjoy himself. I did say so at the time. I would be lying if I said he was my favourite housemate (who has sadly left the house) but I like his laid-back, tolerant attitude to life.

I made this comment in another thread and though I'd mention it here as well, since Steve's fans might be interested or have views on it:

I think you may well have a point Sid, from the get go the general consensus on here seemed to be that Steve would auto win because of his disabilities and it has caused a huge backlash against him. I can understand that and would hate Steve to win via 'sympathy voting' but I think he would hate it very much more.

It does seem to have stopped many folk from seeing the real Steve as a person though which isn't his fault and is a shame. The whole point of him appearing on the show was to try and help people to see past disabilities but it seems to have backfired terribly.

I agree Veri, and not just because I support Steve. I always have lip balm to hand wherever I am, it's one of very few things that I just couldn't be without.

I noticed that when Davina interviewed Andrew Stone at the non eviction last Friday he said that the air conditioning in the house had really gone for his throat, it has that affect on me too, as well as seeming to dry my skin horribly and if I were in there I'd be applying lip balm every few minutes or suffering.

The anti posts have calmed down, thankfully. I don't think anyone could accuse Steve of initiating contact with Laura and that seemed to shut them up, and the focus has moved away.

Agree, as I've tried to argue but not always successfully, the antis do seem to be trying to stick it to the "PC brigade" or whatever. Steve is a likeable, solid guy, not my favourite (that's Corin) but I think he provides a sense of stability there.

I've missed two nights highlights as I've got fed up with JJJJJJJ and literally feel nauseous at that stuff, will return tonight.

I was really enjoying the calmness Billio, I think we can expect to have a week of anti Steve posts again now and if he survives the eviction probably another full week after that.

I was watching a bit of LF yesterday afternoon and Rachel was sitting beside Steve and he casually draped an arm over her shoulder. Oh no thought I, here we go again!

Next thing Rachel is running her hand up and down Steve's arm, not just once, this went on for at least five minutes that I saw before I had to turn off and do some real life stuff. (It was approx. 1445hrs to 1450hrs). Nothing remotely sexual from either of them, it was very much a friendly, comfort type of thing as they chatted with the other HMs sitting there.

Considering she was the one who started the whole carry on by saying to Keeley that he was a married man and it wasn't appropriate blah blah it would have been nice to see a post or two acknowledging that Steve isn't some total villian after all, needless to say that didn't happen though.

I did think about starting a thread pointing it out but to be honest even with the evidence right there on LF at the time I think it would have fallen on deaf ears.



On a much brighter note though I'm chuffed to bits that Corin isn't up this week, I think it'll give her a real boost and I don't think I could have coped if both the HMs I'm supporting were up at once

Hope Steve doesn't win S&R, the public should get the oppertunity to evict every housemate before the final and it would be a bigger achievement for a housemate to face eviction a few times rather than sail to the final coming last - and if he's evicted he wouldn't have won anyway. (I'm not a Steve fan, but I'm a Josie fan and the point is true to her too though she obviously isn't nominated.)

I totally agree that every HM should have to face the public vote at least once.

When BBLB did a brief phone interview with her a couple of weeks ago she came across as a lovely person and from the bits and bobs I heard clearly on LF of her and Dave's wife chatting when they were in the BB garden having high tea she didn't disappoint.

It was really nice hearing both ladies chatting about and asking after each others children, and the split second that we got a camera view from just behind Steve's POV that showed his wife glancing towards him and giving him such a very quick but also very sweet smile was quite touching.

A lovely smile indeed from Steve's wife. He was getting on very well with Sam last night and having a good chat about mentoring teenagers etc. and about tattoos ... just showing the amiable, good natured and positive bloke that he is, and thankfully didn't have any women draping themselves over him.

I find it quite sad that the dislike of some on here for Steve is spilling over onto Dion a bit, I've not seen any nasty threads about the other HMs' family or friends.

I'm loving him carving Steve for Dion on the bench in the garden and encouraging all the other HMs to carve their names on it too, I know that 'vandalising BB property' should probably be a punishable offence but I hope that BB turn a blind eye this one time as I think it makes for a nice touch in the possibly last ever Big Brother
