Anyone know when the BBC iPlayer will be available through this and why is it not already?

It's supposed to be sometime this summer. Have seen it on the blu ray players, and it was pretty impressive.

It's disappointing that the five on demand stuff doesn't have any of the decent stuff - ie the US dramas.

Try ringing Sony, but I suspect it's a bit of both? - but certainly Sony need to provide the software to do it.

I have the Sony 40-EX403. I'd love to make use of the Demand Five material but the sound quality is appalling. Has anyone else noticed this? It's terribly distorted and overloud compared to all the other on demand available such as Lovefilm, Eurosport and Youtube.

Not noticed that but do you use the lovefilm? If so how much do you pay? Can you do pay as you go like Sky box office?

Lovefilm doesn't have the best titles on the on demandservice. I pay £14.99 per month unlimited which includes all the on demand titles with it. But it's not like being able to watch a blockbuster from what I've seen so far on the Sony. Mostly old and B rated stuff.

Ok so not really worth doing then? Think they are missing a trick by not having a pay per view service.

Yep, I was a little disappointed at first glance of the service the other night. You can add films to your online list for discs sending out from the Bravia also but I think they need to improve the catalogue of online viewing first. Just wish Demand5 would sort their sound out. Have fired off an email to them today but doubt there'll be a response worth noting.

Ok I will check mine tonight and let you know. I noticed that there was Sony TV on the list now and it had some episodes of various tv shows.

Would anyone pay for such low quality? - I tried watching a couple of programmes at work (with good ADSL), and while it was flawless throughout both programmes the quality was about like VHS?.

I have been watching trailers in HD and some other content in HD and it look fine to me even the SD stuff.

I watched a few shows on Five and the sound and picture was fine. How are you connecting? WiFi or cable?

It was only for a test (it's not my TV), it was via WiFi, and only half the length of the workshop away from the router.

The network connection wasn't the problem, it was the low bandwidth used for the programmes - no where near even the fairly poor Freeview/Satellite bandwidths.

Some are better than others. Try watching Justin Lee Collins Eurovision. The sound is appalling. Watching via Ethernet connection. Picture quality is ok but sound on some programs is very ropey!

Stunned by the quality of the iPlayer on Bluray have been indulging in HD programmes. Hope they sort out the TV version soon.

Still no iPlayer on Sony TVs and we're entering September soon. Not looking good. How can it take so long?
