Spotify default playlist?

I'm a bit of a Spotify novice and I've just signed up for the free version. I'm prepared to put up with the ads and the limitations of the free version.

One of the things that is really bugging me though is that none of my playlists will play continuously. This may be because it's the free version. However, what does happen is that whenever the track I was listening to finished, it defaults back to some godawful album of classical piano music. Don't get me wrong, I like piano music and did a few searches once it was installed. I played a few piano concertos along with my Rory Gallagher and Duran Duran. Brahms, Grieg, Beethoven, I had a good old go last night

However, some of the Grieg I played came from this CD or "relaxing piano music". Most of this stuff isn't really to my taste and quite frankly a 5 year old could have written most of it. I am sure I could write better (which makes me wonder why I don't! I just never realised that rubbish like that would sell!).

It's really doing my head in. Here I am trying to listen to The Cure and after every track these piano dirges keep cutting in.

Is there any way to stop this? Can I STOP Spotify from defaulting to this thoroughly depressing piano stuff (says she, listening to the Cure! lol) every time a track ends. I find the Cure a lot less depressing than the piano dirges because at least The Cure music has some life and creativity to it!

I have the free Spotify and have never encountered this problem. Sorry for not being much help

If you've set up a playlist properly, and are listening to the song from the playlist (rather than from the search results) then that shouldn't happen.

That sounds like what's happening - you're listening to the search result, not the playlist. Best thing to do is open up your playlists and visually check what's in them, just in case you've added something you didn't mean to.

I have the free version too, and never had any problem. On the contrary, I'm delighted to find stuff I've not heard for 45 years or more !

Perhaps this is all happening because I don't know how to set up a playlist. I have a couple of play lists, but they just have one track each in them and I don't know how to add to them. Anyway, don't seem to have had this problem today. I must have accidentally done something right.

Mind you, if people are going to tell me it's because I haven't set my playlist up properly, it might also be an idea to tell me how to set up a play list properly because obviously if I haven't done it properly that would be because I don't know how! lol

Hi there...when you find a track you like, right click on it and select 'save to'...a list of your playlists will come up so just select which list you would like to add the track to. Good luck

I honestly didn't think it needed explanation.

You set up a new playlist by clicking "New playlist". You then drag and drop songs into it.
