Devo - Something For Everybody
Lukeyboy
13-06-2010
I've been looking forward to this album for months, it's out in two days time and this morning I was given a disc by a friend of mine. It's been leaked and he kindly burned me a copy.

Alright, it's naughty, but I'm still gonna be buying the 12" when it's out.

Anyway, what an album! First album of new material in twenty years and it's brilliant! It's still Devo enough so that old fans like myself can enjoy it, and yet it has a very vibrant electro-pop sound that should entice new listeners too. I'm on my second listen through and so far I can't seem to find a bad song!

Only thing I have noticed is that it sounds very 'of-it's-time', and so I'm not sure quite how well it'll age compared to Q. Are We Not Men, or Freedom of Choice.

The first track from the album, 'Fresh', can be heard on the Devo website, Club Devo

So, anybody else looking forward to this?

I didn't know Devo were still around but am pleased they are. I actually prefer their version of I Can't Get No Satisfaction to the Stones' original (Honest!) and think Whip It is still fresh and quirky.
