Let's buy it and get it to Number 1. If you have not heard it, it is fabulous. Kylie back to her best.

Let's knock the idiot Cordon off the top of the charts.

Agree with everything you said but with the world cup songs climbing up the charts she has got some stiff competion. I think she'll get to number 1 but not this week.

Love this song. I've not really followed the charts for a few months now because most of what has been in there I have found to be crap, but I am this week! Great song, has a strong summer vibe to it and should do well. Anything in the top 3 is an acceptable placing in my opinion.

All those sport songs are old and re-releases. Kylie will beat them.

Absolutely. I hate all the R n B sh1te and Cowell puppets. Kylie has brought the charts back to what they should be about. Good pop. Kylie, Madonna and GaGa is where it is at.

Anyone know if she has any promo lined up this week in the UK? It'd really give the single a massive push.

I totally agree! Pete Waterman's are just as bad and I include Kylie in that bunch. Her voice is one of the most irritating out there still today. Whenever she sings, all you hear is her horrible Australian accent. Part of the sign of a decent singer is being able to lose your accent whilst you sing, especially when it's such a bad one like the Australian or the American. Kylie Minogue has had one or two decent songs written for her such as 'Can't get you out of my head' and 'Wow' but apart from that, her voice is at best average and I have always believed that. Why she keeps coming back I do not know, she needn't bother herself!

Agree'd but then again I don't think Kylie is selling records to teenagers, probably more those in their 20's 30's or older. As for the Waterman, Cowell comments, neither are produce particularly interesting or worthy music but they are very good at what they do, they make "factory" music, treating it in the same way as you would make a lamp or any other consumer item, it isn't trying to be art. In that respect they are a success as they have both created brands that sell lots of records.

All that said, this is a really really good song, its brilliant synth pop in the style of Goldfrapp and isn't a million miles from some of the more electro influenced tracks on the last Yeah Yeah Yeah's record.

I am not a Kylie fan at all, but i heard this without knowing who it was and without prejudice i really enjoyed it, then nearly fell over when i realised it was Kylie.

its hard to imagine there being a better pop song this year than this or dancing on my own, but they both probably won't be number one.

thats opinion, i dont like either and would cite 'undercover lover' (kids in glass houses ft frankie) as the best current track, ga ga's 'telephone' has to be a strong contender for track of the year.

The difference between Waterman and Cowell is simple. Waterman started off as a very small company. Waterman wrote, arranged and produced many original songs. Waterman didn't have prime time shows in the States or here in the UK that Cowell has to promote his 'artists'. Cowell is blatant in his operations, flooding the market with bland singers who churn out covers.

Why is Waterman being brought up? Kylie hasn't had anything to do with him for nearly 20 years.

Because I am a fan of his music, he was very successful with Kylie and I think he is much better than Cowell and his influence on the current scene.

You are right, it is 18 years since Kylie recorded with Pete Waterman. Got To Be Certain, Hand On Your Heart, Wouldn't Change A Thing, Better The Devil You Know, Step Back In Time & What Do I Have To Do? are great records.

I have thanks. Someone mentioned 'Cowell's puppets' and you fired back with 'Waterman's puppets' aimed at Kylie. It isn't 20 years ago you know

Anyway you're 1st post on this thread shows you aren't really worth paying attention to. What an odd comment to come out with

there is NO difference, they are puppet masters making cheesy manufactured pop products out of nobodies. neither have added anything to music, both are hted by the industry and music fans. .... tbh out of all the svengalis, i prefer simon fuller! the s club products were much better.

kylie was VERY lucky, lucky lucky lucky! , in the early days she was derided by pop fans as just another pop puppet.... they/we were right. kylies only got 'credible' as an artiste when she LEFT waterman.

... 'cowells puppets' was mentioned by the op, miles, a huge waterman fan. i was pointing out the massive contradiction in hating one set of puppets but ignoring the fact that waterman was also a much hated puppet master. it matters NOT that kylie left s/a/w 20 odd years ago as miles still champions s/a/w as some kind of musical legends...in reality they were puppet masters the same as cowell.

Too bloody right!
SAW produced brilliant pop songs back in the day that are still loved and listened to today.
There is no comparison with the dull, cynical crap pushed out by Simon Cowell and all the awful X Factor style programmes.

lol.. miles has a deluded m8! (a set up obviously)

s/a/w produced cynical crap.. reptitive crap and pushed it out to the little kids. and they were NOT loved 'back in the day' and were not 'loved' then nor now! s/a/w remain the most detested producers of all time, the fact is that their cynical exploitation of 'kiddy pop' opened the door for the fullers/walshes and cowells of this world. cowell produces crap, waterman produced crap. both were businessmen out to make money... unfortunately with some success (particually cowell, walsh and fuller who outsold waterman by a mile).

if anyone was 'loved' back in the day... it wasnt waterman! id suggest fuller or walsh who have shifted far more units then waterman would suggest their products are 'more loved'.

Abso-bloomin'-lutely Cyberschizoid. You are totally right. Big respect to you. Lovin' you.

Mushy wants to say that SAW had limited success, limited appeal and a limited influence on the music scene. SAW wrote, produced and arranged some brilliant tracks, mainly for Kylie, but we mustn't overlook the ground breaking tracks by Divine, Hazel Dean, Sinitta, Dead or Alive, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Mel & Kim and numerous others, including many charity records. Anyone who is anyone wouldn't criticise SAW, however, Cowell lays himself wide open as he clogs up the charts with boring / dull cover versions fronted by people who suffer from personality bypasses.

At no time did SAW try to dominate the music and entertainment industry like Cowell aims to do. Cowell wants to dominate the whole music scene as well as the entertainment industry across the world. SAW never had that cynical drive, or the media outlets which Cowell has. SAW never had The Fix Factor, American Idol, ? Has Got Talent etc.

SAW are far, far more creative and credible than the dull-as Cowell, who is simply killing off interest in the current pop industry. Give me SAW anytime over the terrible Cowell.
