ooh... good idea... i can think of loads but im not sure if they were ever realesed. in the past themes were often written for the programme and not pinched from existing tracks.

i like the 'man alive' theme, original 'dr who', 'chai mi' by ennio morricone (life and times of david lloyd george)... loads more too,...

I never thought a song would be able to sum up my life's aims in one minute and one second. Bravo to whoever wrote it, they can read my mind.

I still have the theme tune for Meetings With Remarkable Trees in my head, composed by Julian Stewart Lindsay, who arranged the music to Jonathan Creek. (can't find it on youtube sadly)

And, of course, Mock the Week

Mock the Week is the best, hands down.

The Inbetweeners is pretty good too.

I think most of the BBC sporting themes are excellent - snooker, Ski Sunday, Horse racing, F1 etc.
I don't like watching most of the sports, but will listen to the theme music before switching over.

For me though, my favourite is the original TV series of Hithhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, which is actually an Eagles track called 'Journey Of The Sorcerer' and is an excellent instrumental piece, with loads of atmoshphere.

I find the lyrics of that one naff! The Friends theme song all the way! Does anyone else have to stop what they're doing and join in with the clap every time? Maybe just me...

I wondered how long it would take for someone to put this. This was my first thought when I saw the thread title. I love MTW
