O2 3G not working. help wanted!

hey.the internet on my Samsung Wave has not been working all day! it tends to not work somtimes, but never for a full day. it either comes up with an error message saying 'no response' or 'access point unavailable'. i dont have a clue what that means. does anyone know how to solve this problem?
quite frankly im getting abit sick of it. luckily the phone is still within the 14 day cooling off period, and im close to sending it back. its not worth a 24 month contract by any stretch of the imagination! plus the battery lasts barely half a day.

You are not alone haven't been able to get a "data connection" all day but the odd thing is emails/share prices etc work fine - HTC Desire.

I reckon it's O2 and not your phone.

I've been having a similar problem on my iPhone 3GS. The 3G doesn't even work at my house so I have to use GPRS. I had no problems last but this morning it was extra slow. I think it's O2. They did say their servers kept getting overloaded. It seems to be working fine now, but one thing. I can't sign into IM+, it will say connecting.. then load a few hundred of my MSN contacts, then say connecting again. It's annoying now.

O2 had a nationwide data outage this morning (from the early hours onwards), so you might have had problems because of that.

its still not working! but glad to see its probably an O2 problem and not the phone.

Everything is working 100% now. IM+ is an iPhone app which works for MSN, Yahoo, Gmail, Aim, etc. You just enter your hotmail details and all your contacts load automatically.

I think it works on some other phones too.

The 02 3g/HSDPA service is poor in some areas of the country and 02 has had minor problems with service once in a while since end of April I have noticed.
In my street im lucky if I get 2 or 3 bars out of the 5 at times for the 3g/HSDPA servive.
All seems to be working with me for the last few days and I have noticed this evening that 02 Active has a new style home page on my Sony Ericsson Elm.

when my alarm went off on my iphone 3g this morning I was also greeted with a message saying cellular network was no responding or words to that effect... no luck on the internet until around 8 when the same message continued to pop up but the internet was working... I do find o2 3g network a bit Pi** poor to be honest, I don't expect it everywhere but it should at least cover populated areas like towns & busy section of the motorway network... I also find the mast near where I work must have some sort of intermittent fault as it full signal but at time will only transfer data at less the 10kb... quicker to switch the gsm....
Also in weaker areas it is contently switching from 3g to gsm and back... but i think this is an Iphone fault not 02

Isn't it only on one more network than the 3GS (i.e. 3)?

My iPhone 3G is still not working. Been like this since Tuesday.

I spoke to customer services this morning and she said that my call was the third in a row she has had to handle.

has anyone elses O2 phone decided to jump back in time by 2 days? Mine did this on Sunday morning and has been the same ever since, if I manually set the time/date its ok but as soon as I enable auto update it thinks its 2 days ago. Time zone is set automatically from network too so it must be a network issue?

Going to do a full restore tonight to rule out firmware glitch

O2 having some serious issues, been 'down' all day - I have a BB and have no messenger, email or internet. Emailed them the other day as couldn't find any information on the net - this is what they said (email rec'd 15th June)

"I'd like to inform you that there are some networking issues
and therefore all our customers are unable to access the WAP, GPRS and MMS services. This means, you might face problems for sometime however,I'm unable to comment about the time frame. We're working to resolve this on a priority basis as we don't want our customer to face this
difficulty."

Wonder if it's the same thing? Can't find anything anywhere on the net. Oh and I'm not 3G, think O2 just having problems all over.

Its been fine all day, and no-one has posted so it may be local to you or Blackberry may be having one of their outages again.

Nope, I'm on the iPhone 3GS and once again, it's slow. If people would stop using the Internet on it so much, there would be no problem. Or if O2 could upgrade their crappy servers.

I'm not even on 3G, I just have a blackberry 8900. Still nothing, got tiny letters 'edge'. Just hope it fixes itself sooner rather than later, if it is O2 being sketchy again, then just hope they stop with the rubbish and fix it. So much for being the biggest service provider in the UK, they can't cope.

Have you got the Blackberry Unlimited bolt-on on your account?

Or

Have you tried to resend the service books to your handset?
