Dont forget guys that O2 is the only network that supports visual voicemail.
If Visual voicemail is important to you then bear this in mind when switching.....YOU WILL LOOSE IT. |

I've always wondered if anyone actually uses this...I can't say i've ever had a reason to use it and certainly wouldn't stay with a network just for this, especially when data bundles on other networks appear as though they are going to be far better value for money than o2...priorities I guess.

I'd sacrifice visual voicemail to go to a network that provides 3g coverage around here. Really annoying that orange, t mobile and 3 have full 3g coverage and i'm stuck on gprs

Visual Voicemail was nice, but I've certainly not missed it all that much since moving to giffgaff. If I was really that bothered then I could simply use hullomail which offers pretty much the exact same thing anyway (and superior in some ways as you can access messages via the web too).

Probably just they are the only ones who bothered to put in the infrastructure at their end to support it. In other countries with multiple providers there are often some or all providers offering it - see here for who offers what in other countries.

It is so much simpler to see a list off all your messages, who sent them by name and choose which one to play like clicking a track listing.
I cannot imagine having to dial 'voicemail' anymore, that is so yesterday. Whilst i can see why some people wouldn't be bothered by its loss i think it is important to make people aware that it is only o2 that support it. A bit annoying though isn't it that a key feature of the iPhone is poorly supported. Apple should make them support all features. |

... which makes it doubly frustrating that O2 doesn't provide Visual Voicemail for PAYG customers. I've still got eight months of free unlimited internet on my 3GS and only have to top up a tenner a month to keep the free minutes going. I'm not going to switch to another provider, but why can't I have Visual Voicemail too?

I don't know why anyone would use a PAYG tarrif when there are the iPhone simplicity plans. Unless of course you are under age. |

Integration of VV into a network is about £3m, I'm surprised any network has put it in personally.

When you top up £10 on PAYG you get 300 texts, 500mb data and £10 worth of calls which depending on how you use it is about 100mins. £10 simplicity gets you 100 minutes and unlimited texts but no data £10 PAYG simplicity gets you unlimited texts and 500mb internet but no calls. |

If I understand my PAYG plan correctly, £10 gets me 500 minutes from my local postcode (landlines and O2), 10p texts and unlimited data. That might not suit people who make a lot of calls whilst they're away from their local area, but it works for me. This month I got down to 90p credit before topping up, but that was due to unusual circumstances. Usually I'm nowhere near to running out.

The clincher for me will be SMS delivery messages if os4 supports it. then I will move from o2 without a doubt. Visual voicemail is a nice to have feature but I really miss delivery messages

How about because for many it works out cheaper?

£10 giffgaff goodybag gets you 100 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data - that's why I'm not on simplicity!

You can get delivery reports on O2 on your iPhone now.. Prefix your message with *0# and you'll get a confirmation in your message thread.

To quote an American phrase - enough already. It's just spamming as you are being incentivised. |
