We only get any reward if a new customer specifically quotes our username when they sign up, or if they want us to send them a SIM. Sorry if you feel it's spamming but I genuinely just want to share the love and enhance awareness of this new network as I think it's a great concept and an eminently sensible option to consider. It's not like giffgaff is mentioned anymore than O2, Vodafone or anyone else is it? And on threads specifically talking about data caps and disatisfaction with them they are entirely relevant, as they don't have any. Ok this thread isn't specifically talking about data caps, but it is directed at people thinking of leaving O2 because of them, and someone asked the question why wouldn't you use Simplicity - I just gave my honest answer as I specifically went from Simplicity to giffgaff.
And in response to the question earlier, no you don't need to unlock if it's an O2 phone - but any other network locked handset will need unlocking first. |

It's voicemail for lazy people who are far too busy to call 191, 901 etc to listen to voice messages.
1) Syncs with gmail so no call charges, comes out of data. 2) If I do need to call it comes out of my inclusive minutes, rather than the 12p T Mobile would charge to listen to a voicemail. It may 'only' be 12p but they soon add up.... Last edited by bigtunes : 15-06-2010 at 09:20. Reason: spelling! |

£10 giffgaff goodybag gets you 100 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data - that's why I'm not on simplicity!

I use hullomail for two reasons:
1) Syncs with gmail so no call charges, comes out of data. 2) If I do need to call it comes out of my inclusive minutes, rather than the 12p T Mobile would charge to listen to a voicemail. It may 'only' be 12p but they soon add up.... Calling yourself (and therefore a mobile number) comes out of your mins. |

It doesn't cost anything if instead of calling 222 you call your own number (gets you into voicemail)
Calling yourself (and therefore a mobile number) comes out of your mins. But good advice and well worth mentioning! |

I'd actively like to get rid of Visual Voicemail, since it means that when O2's data network falls over (as it frequently does) I'd actually get my voicemail, instead of getting informed about it sometimes literally weeks later.

The unlimited data is only a limited offer though isn't it? From end of June it's chargeable according to the GG website.
The unlimited data that is part of the £10, £15 and £35 goodybags is not an offer but a standard part of the tariff - there are no plans for that to change. It has been pointed out that the prices page isn't exactly clear on this point (and I hope it is changed soon to be obvious), but I think a lot of people are getting confused between "free" data and "unlimited" data. However this is well beyond the context of this thread...
